Question Wheel Scratches

Are the 16" polished aluminum wheels clearcoated? I have some scratches in mine and want to polish them out. I don't want to ruin the finish on the wheels. What is a good polish for the wheels?

Hey DF.
Depending on how deep the scratches are, they may or may not come out. If they are light scratches,Mothers clearcoat wheel polish is the best stuff I've found to polish them. Good luck,,,,,98

Thanks. I'll have to pick some up and give it a try.

DF,

I made the mistake of using the same brush on the rims that I use on the tires - plenty of little scratchs. Got most of them out with Mother's clear-coat polish - but the best results were with that magic GS-27 (or whatever) that you see on TV, seems to be just a little stronger than the clear-coat polish. Even took a bad rub off the face of my cell phone . . . !
