Clueless

You got me on that oily film if you can wipe it off with your fingers but it still comes back...I was thinking it might be some contamination between the windshield sheets of glass, or possibly poor lamination of the vinyl to the glass...but if you feel oily residue, I'm stumped. Does this only happen when you have the AC on, or defroster on at the coolest setting?

The haze only comes in the wet weather. The windshield looks clean when dry and brigth outside. But at nite, and especially when wet,you can see a haze in the glass. I can make lines in it with my fingers, but can't seem to get it off with cleaners. Adding the defrost to hi heat will help some but not eliminate it. It doesn 't appear to be a fogging problem.

Recommend some cleaners for me to try.

Cool Do you using "dressings" on the dash?

Some dressings are very heavy in dimethal silicone oils and increase the plastizer loss of the vinyl.

If you have used a dressing, this may the reason.
