I have a 97 f150 with similar problems but my truck is not black, it's the todreador red. I noticed the "spider marks on my hood. I might be lucky to be able to get it fixed, my nabour is the service manager at a Ford dealership. I think I will have to go for a visit!

Hey there guys..... ShowYa here in Kansas City.......... I also own a 1999 Black Lariat F 150 and those cracks and such you are seeing is the E coat that is applied to your truck before primer and paint is applied. I have it too, bedside was repainted within the first 3 months of ownership, now less than 3 years later the right front fender and passenger side door are showing the same signs. I have already had mine looked over just waiting on weather or not Ford will repaint or replace the painted parts.

ShowYa in Kansas City.....

I have a spider crack on my 00 HDF150. It is on the lower right side between the wheel well & side step. I do not want to have any body work done now, but I want to advise Ford in case I run out of warranty.

If you go the case of beer method, make sure you give them the case after they paint the truck....

cdooguy - I would love to hear what they had to say. I have the same red truck color. They say it is from bird droppings, but I have never had a car do that before. I think it is bad paint.

Mine has a sticker in the rear window that proudly exclaims what plant it was built at. I thought all the trucks had them?,,,,,98

I think everyone who has a problem with paint should call ford. Even if its not about yourtruck. If enough people compain maybe they will do something about it.

Frod repainted my truck

I have a '99 F150 Flareside that is deep wedge wood blue. I had those spider lines all over my truck. I carried to the only Ford dealer in my area that I trust. The guy that runs the body shop didn't even give me a hard time. He just wouldn't give me a loaner. Which didn't matter since I had it repainted while I was on vacation. My truck was repainted March of this year. It turned out really good. I would try a different ford dealer if they keep giving you crap. Good luck getting your truck fix.

That hazy bubbly stuff popping up around your windshield squirters is probably your clear-coat pealing up.
