HOW TO PROGRAM A KEY ....

I lost my second key and had to go buy a new one. The dealer wanted $45 to program the key but I ran into Joe on one of these threads who sells the PAT Keys and he said I didn't need to have two keys to program the new (second) key. He sent me to: www.fngiants.com/keyprogramming.htm

Joe said, "Where it tells you to insert your second programmed key, you just insert the first key a second time, and it should work. Has worked for hundreds of other people."

I tried the Ford Onboard Programming "Method C" several times and I never could get it to work. It still says, "Thieft" when I insert the new key.

Has anyone else had any luck programming a new key with just one key?

Thanks for any helpful feedback.

The procedure is in the owner's manual. You're actually programming the truck, not the key. Each key has a unique code and this code needs to be probrammed into the truck's security system.
