Dealer stickers

Any suggestions about how to get car dealer stickers off the hide of my truck?

I used a hair dryer. Heat it up and then start a corner and start peeling it back.

For the sticky glue residue left I used Lighter Fluid.

Should've done what I did. When the brought my new $36K screw out after the dealer prep, I saw that stupid dealer sticker on it. I looked at the salesman and asked, "what is that?" He kind of looked at me stupid, then I said "take it back there and remove that sticker, or the sale is off". They quickly took my truck to the shop and removed the sticker.

They're just like any other "sticker". Use you favorite method... heat, dental floss, petroleum based products (mayo???), brute force.

It helps to do it as soon as possible.

I removed mine the day I brought it home. Then after the first "check-up", I noticed they applied another one!

I asked them remove it immediately. They asked why? I said OK, how much will you pay me to advertise for you?

They of course were not able to answer that and reluctantly removed it.

Not only are they ugly but they were applied crooked. Good Ole' american workmanship.

Lets be glad they're no longer drilling holes and riveting them on anymore!

Now that's bold!
The dealership I bought from has a policy, if it's sitting on their lot it gets their sticker. If you order, no sticker. That seems fair.

I saw a car (not a truck) where the dealer had actually put some kind of cut-out template over the rear-high brake light, but inside the assembly, so whenever they stepped on the brake and it lit up, you would see the dealer's name! They probably didn't even know it was there!

Now that's wild!

There used to be a greasy spoon restaurant in town called,
'pfhffaaaarrt!!'. Two hours after you ate there, you couldn't help but advertise for them for free.

Thats a pretty cool idea with the 3rd brake light.

Anyway, i went back to the dealer's yesterday to get my new tailgate emblem on, and the guy told me they'd have to take off the ACE ford sticker, but i could go back to the parts dept. and they would put another one on for me. Yeah right, i told him they could put that sticker you know where. LoL , the stickers take away from the truck.

I don't know how he took the sticker or old emblem off, i didn't watch. But before i peeled a part of a letter off and it came off pretty easily. The dealer stickers on my truck were just vinyl like pinstriping.

As has already been said...

Hair Dryer or Heat Gun. I had those vinyl letters from the dealership on my tailgate. It took about 10 minutes to remove them using my fingernail and the heatgun. After removal, I waxed off the remaining 'goo' that was left behind.

Worked like a charm...
