Angry Rear Window leaking on 1999 F-150

I bought my truck about a 1 1/2 years ago and my rear window started leaking shortly after. At first it only did it when it poured but now it's whenever it looks like it's going to rain. Has any one else had this problem. How do I fix it.

Check to see if you weather seal has receded down below
the trim. I've noticed alot of them has, including mine.
I talked to two dealers already. One didn't want to fix it
because they said they replaced one trucks three times now
with the same result. They said ford was working on a
fix. The other dealer had no knowledge of that. Just my
2 cents.

It is the seal on the passengers side. I tried to fix it myself but only held the water out for about a week.

Mine happens to be the passenger side also. I don't appear
to be leaking yet. Mine will go back to the dealer if they
say it will be fixed right the first time. I take it you're out
of the warranty period.

Service Bulletin Number # 01111
Bulletin Sequence Number # 180
Date of Bulletin posted 01/01

I have a 1999 Lariat and had mine replaced back in 2001, Feb. I think. Now once again the seal, the black foam bead that shinks has fallen down behind the rear window halo, tell the dealer you want the new 2001-2002 Supercrew rear halo, they have a very nice, thick real rubber not foam seal that wraps around the edge of the halo.

I am getting mine replaced for the second time after 60,000 miles under warranty, but I also have Premium Care warranty too!

Showya,

I have a 2001 f150. I would think the halo is the same.
My seal is rubber and has fallen in less than a year.
Thanks for the numbers. Dealer never called me back.
I think I'll call him with these.

Sounds good, these bulletin numbers came from right here under the posting on your left Recalls and TSB's.

Have a good one!

Received an answer from ford today. Ford's actual service
number is 15187. They are going to replace the rear
trim (halo) and the seal.

Is your seal going to be replaced for free or do you have to pay for it?

I'm only a year into my warranty. They're paying. They
indicated that they are having a glass co. do the work.
Parts have to be ordered.

I noticed that black seal started to pop out alittle around the drivers side, and sink in on the passenger side. Its not leaking, but i asked my dealer to replace it and its on order. It will be the new design like the 02's have where the seal like attaches to the plastic or overlaps. It looks ALOT nicer. I'll get pics for you's later. good luck

As you can see, the back glass has been a definite design problem for the FORD engineers....

I will be having my back glass replaced very soon for a very very slight leak when it rains EXTREMELY HARD.
