"Look Again" Ford's new slogan......

Someone correct me if I am wrong with my math here. If you figure Ford spend 8.5 billion (I just can't believe that) but that's what the article states. Anyway that comes out to 283,333 trucks at an average cost of $30,000 each, or 340,000 trucks at $25,000 each or 425,000 trucks at $20,000.
That is ALOT of trucks. How many trucks does Ford produce a year? I don't know, but instead of a stupid slogan of "look again" they could of said come on in and we will take $5,000 off the price and incentives already in place. They could do that on 1.7 million trucks for the same 8.5 billion they spent on that "Look again" or they could fix ALOT of their engineering problems they have on the road at this time (i.e. 97 4.2) to name just one. It could fix a ton of door cracks.
Something to think about Ford...

You know this "Look Again" thing could backfire on Ford. Here is just two examples I thought of:
1. Guys walks into a Ford dealer. Salemans says "Hello how you doing?" Guy says "great, I am looking for a good truck." Salesman says "We at Ford have a saying Look Again" Guys says "Thanks, have a great day" Guys leaves and goes to a Chevy dealer. Tells the Chevy dealer he was at Ford and asked for a good truck and the Ford salesman told him to look again.
2. Your at your Ford dealer and about ready to sign the papers. Salemans say's great doing business with you, and look again. Guy goes outside to look over his truck again thinking the salesman was telling him he had better look over his truck again and make sure there is nothing wrong with it.
I don't know about you but I feel more comfortable with "Built Ford tough" rather then "Look Again" just kind of like, hmmmm you didn't find anything wrong "YET".

I guess that this particular example shows us where Ford's focus is...not on building a great truck but pay an amazing amount of money on a very dumb slogan. Their values suck! FIX OUR PISTON SLAP, EGR VALVES, DOOR CRACKS, and RUST PROBLEMS WITH THAT 8.5 BILLION!!!
P.S. I still love my truck, though.

'No Boundaries' was lame, 'Look Again' is worse, but at least its not as bad as 'Like a Rock'! And...You just know the Chevy boys are going to have fun with it! Must have been the same ad agency that came up with 'An Army of One'. I know they pay those people waaay too much for slogans, but I'd bet its not billions.
How about if we came-up with some better slogans. There's a lot of creative people at this site. Think I'll start a new thread.

Better slogans:
1."We won't be undersold! Our prices are crazy!" (Ford would also be renamed Whacky Larry, or something to that nature)
2."We're number 1 in customer satisfaction!" (It doesn't necessarily have to be true does it?)
3. "Check out our new redesigns! What were we smokin?" (Maybe Ford is trying to phase themselves out of the market, but come on! Look at those redesigns!)
4. ""
5. "FORD. Like you haven't heard of us."
Sorry, but the new slogan sucks. The new f-150 design sucks. the next model mustang (can't remember release year) sucks. Lack of an engine that stacks up to the competition sucks. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any bias on any automotive company. I bought my f-150 used and it was out of warranty, so i've never had to deal with them. Truck has worked perfectly and I love it, and I couldn't care about thier slogan. I bought the truck. I also got the 5.4l, but I'm left with few options. Ford should drop a few million onto engine development, because there are company's that make twice the horsepower and torque on a smaller engine! Look at any similarly sized engine in any market and I guarentee it will be in the last 10%. But oh god, it's been about 5 minutes (and yes, that is 5-oh my god it's almost 6:30 in the morning-minutes) and I already have about 30 disses on their new slogan. My favorite so far "Look Again... CAUSE THEIR FIRESTONE TIRE BLEW OUT AND IT'S ROLLING OVER INTO THIS LANE!" I guess those chebbies will have to eat my ***hole when I stomp them, because they got me on the slogan!
