I have a friend who is a shop foreman for Wal Mart,he works on thier trucks at thier big distrubution warehouses.
Any way they have big brother on thier trucks,GPS tracking,Black boxes.
he says the drivers hate the hell out 'em.
theyre constantly in danger of losing thier jobs if they get to going down even a slight hill to fast.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the clarification. You seem like a stand-up kinda guy, and I really appreciate that!

I hear you with writing things and such. Im not very good myself and know what you mean about writing the way you speak, I myself do the very same thing. I have written, and received e-mails at work and such and they leave a LOT of room for interpretation. Sometimes things can sound negative or snotty when you read them, but it was not the person's intent to do so.

I am guilty of the same things at times, so I know where you are coming from. Glad to hear that you did not have a bone to pick with me!!!! LOL

Anyways, thanks for response. Oh and by the way, do you think we can ever get a group buy on this site for the Microtuners? I still REALLY wanna get one.

Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of this long weekend.

Hi TexfordD,

You know, big-rig drivers have caught grief both ways - over going too fast, having to keep up with schedules requiring driving far too many hours, keeping double log books etc. - and now on the other end, with all the gear on board making sure they don't do anything that isn't "PC" - along with the relatively low pay for those drivers, it makes you wonder sometimes why they put up with it.

I guess if I had my choice between being pushed for time or being monitored to not go too fast, I'd take the extra time - but nobody likes Big Brother. Tracking vehicles location makes sense for many commercial vehicles, that can be a big aid to logistics - but it's like anything else, it's how those systems are *used* that really tells the tale as to their real usefulness, tolerance, etc.

Wal-Mart has come under fire for how they treat their employees, including *numerous* claims of forcing in-store employees to work uncompensated overtime - they've been in the news for such conduct. I don't know the outcome of any of that, but given that fact alone, I can't see many people looking to move up waning to work for Wal-Mart. It's too bad, Sam Walton did some good things in his life.

Best of luck to your friend (and anyone else) working at Wal-Mart & their drivers!
