Wynjammer, ya didnt gain much torque with the supercharger but ya got alot of horsepower! Wow.

GMC305, I just Copy and pasted someone else's post about the truck trend article. I know that the 5.3 V8 puts out 315lb-ft torque.

Fast46...

You are right about the torque. Due to a delay in parts I wasn't able to get my duals installed prior to the SC (like I was supposed to). It created a situation that actually lowered my torque at low end! Now I've got the duals and the "chip". I hope to get to both a dyno and the track later this week...YAHOOO!

Hey Wynjammer,

I noticed in your signature line you say something about 9007 headlamps...have you changed yours out to higher wattage, or some other change? I'm curious because that's one of the first things I do to everything we drive here. Did you talk to the folks over at PUMA? Or was that someone else I gave that number to? (I just can't keep track these days!)

Bests,

Yes. The bulbs are a bright bluish white and slightly higher wattage..65 I think. They have a real high tech look. They are made by Wizard...They will only work in newer vehicles with unsealed beams...

Finally had my truck weighed at the local landfill ..... 4500 lbs exactly with me out and half tank of gas and a heavy SuperChip.

What does this prove? Not a thing. Does anyone care? Probably not but I sure satisfied my curiosity and hope the smell dead rats and rotting spare ribs of the landfill leaves soon so passengers won't think I didn't shower every day. Yuck!

fast46triton,

Hey ..... I have a supercab. Yours is regualr cab? Don't know what the weight difference is but it has to be at least 300 lbs. Would you agree?

Consider two doors, longer frame, driveshaft, more glass, rear seat and the extra sheet metal.

Exclamation

I stopped at a closed weigh station on the highway last weekend. The scale said we weighed 5700lbs. This included me, my wife, and my dog which total around 400lbs. We had a little bit of gear with us: ~100lbs.; and a full tank of gas.

I didn't expect it to weigh that much. Does is sound right?

Jason,

When you analyize your stated weight a little it sounds correct. The differences from "Fast" and my vehicle which are the same are: 4x4 and the large cap. I don't know how much the identical trucks weigh versus a 4x4 but the 4x4s are heavier and your cap must weigh another 100/150 lbs.

So your 5700 minus your family, 100 lbs of gear is about 500 lbs, gas @ about 6 lbs a galon = 150 lbs leaving about 5050 lbs. The remaining difference from my truck leaves the cap and your extra 4x4 weight.

Sounds about right to me.

Gas, I believe...and as I calulated, weighs 6.7 pounds.

Weighed my truck at the grainery here in Windsor:
4340 with me and full tank of gas;
That comes to 4180 truck alone with full tank(4005 empty).

Ran it through the calculator again:
200-210 rear wheel
