Dissapointed...

Dear Wynjammer,
I see that you are considerably more negative here than you have been on the phone, and I must say that surprises me, it seems like 2 completely different people. Nevertheless, the diagrams for the jumper locations have been faxed to you (first thing Monday (east coast!) as I promised).
The card mentioning the potential "no-start" problem on an extremely small number of 1999 vehicles is accurate, and Superchips is doing this work, and overnighting the computers back to the customer AT NO CHARGE, a response that I feel goes far above and beyond the call of duty, rather than being something to complain about. It has *nothing* to do with the Superchip, it is a matter of the supplier of the circuit board not doing their job properly. So you might want to give some thought to it from that perspective. As you can see from the responses you have gotten, Superchips does this very quickly and reliably. Moreover, anyone who wants to have this done locally can easily do so, by having Superchips send the diagrams, as they have done for you.
It's easy to get mad and post something very negative when you get frustrated from the Ford's computer problem on those very few 1999's so affected, we've all seen others do the same thing. It takes far less effort to pick up the phone and call me, and when anyone does, they find out very quickly that I'm happy to bend over backwards in trying to help, including over the weekend. And everyone gets up and running very quickly, as you can see from the other posts here.
I guess what I'm trying to say to *everyone* is, instead of immediately getting on F150online and posting something heated and nasty, please take the time to pick up the phone and call me. Or call Superchips directly toll-free at 888-227-2447. One quick phone call can save a lot of aggravation, and eliminate heated posts. And I'd like to thank everyone who responded to Andy (wynjammer) here for posting your thoughts and experiences. Someone mentioned reading the "Truck won't start" thread, which is a great idea, there is a LOT of information there, and feedback from people who have had Superchips connect the jumper(s), and also from those who have had it done locally, and it's a good read.
My bests to all,

mike,
has superchips come out with a clearier
picture of where the jumpers are located.you faxed me the picture awhile back (code fug3 ,c dia),but they where so blacked out it was really hard to make out.i have spoke to you on the phone since then, and we both agreed that the best thing to do was to go to my electronics shop and call superchips, and get them to walk me through the procedure.it has really been hard to find the time to get this done during the week.if i could get a real good picture, i could probably get this done on the weekend when i really have the time to do it.

Hi Spydog,
Well, you're never going to get a "really good" picture from faxing a scan of a snapshot. Superchips has taken photos of every different circuit board, so that's the only source of the "diagram", and it was never meant to be a true "diagram" of the entire circuit board, nor is that required. All that is needed is the location of the jumper(s). As I told you at the time, the thing to do is to simply call Superchips, and ask them to mail a copy to you, if you want the best quality. Or just talk to a Superchips technician, who can tell you exactly where to look, either way it's a simple phone call. For anyone with any kind of background working with circuit boards, or anyone who knows how to solder neatly, this is child's play. Look in the Yellow pages for radio shops, TV repair shops, CB Radio sales & service, etc., etc. Chances are you'll find several people able to do the work right away. All the solderer needs to see is the jumper, and you can call Superchips at 888-227-2447 to have them fax or mail the info.
Good luck, and let me know what happens!

Wynjammer,
Been through the same thing about the same time as Arkansas Lariat. Know your frustrations and was disaapointed BEFORE I knew about this issue.
Was treated with the utmost respect by Mike and Superchips, sent my computer to SuperChips since I could easily be without this vehicle for a day or so. Returned 2nd day air, all fixed, with a new "tiger" and the rest is history.......as is your problem.
Best to ya!
