Hey Mike, where is the chip in my Bronco?
I looked above the brake cylinder on the fire wall, and under the dash. Do I have to start unscrewing trim panels?

I know that you are asking for the other Mike but I can help you. (I have a 96 Bronco, had a 95) Anyway, the computer is below the brake booster in the engine compartment. It hides into the firewall. Unplug the battery, loosen the center bolt for the 60 pin pcm plug, take it off. Then loosen two bolts that hold the pcm in place. It slides out of the firewall. It will hit the plastic fenderwell when you pull it out but it you work it around it should come all the way out. If it wont you may have to loosen the fenderwell. I got tired of pulling mine in and out to change chips, so I just left it lay on the fenderwell. Now I can change chips in about 30 seconds!

It's mounted just like the 96 Ranger, in a recess in the firewall just as "ksmike" said in his post. I have also seen them in the passenger kick panel, and under the dash as well on some Bronco's.
It can look confusing because you don't see the computer under the hood, as only the first inch or so of the computer sticks out of it's recess in the firewall, so it can connect to it's wiring harness. Your visual clue will be the wiring harness "hub" (usually beige or off-white), attached to the front of the computer. It will have a single 10mm bolt dead-center, and this holds true on every computer-controlled Ford. When you see that, you know you've found the front of the computer. Detach the wiring harness, (by loosening the 10mm bolt until it releases the wiring harness)and most of these computer locations have a post with a retaining nut, one on each side of the computer, which secures it to the firewall. Once you remove those, the computer slides out of it's recess, again, just like "ksmike" said.
Good luck with your install, and give me a call if you get stuck!
