Talking Ford Viagra!

I love my new F-150. And, at the same time, I'm real nervous about screwing it up! I am not mechanically apt.

When I ordered my Superchip, I asked Mike about an installer in my area. Right from the start, he encouraged me to do it myself and said he would be there to back me up if anything went wrong. Got my Superchip yesterday. Woke up this morning, took a deep breath, read the instructions *again* and ripped into that bad boy! Hour later, I was down at the Texaco filling up with 92 and feeling like the first time I ever got....well, you know.

The Superchip works. It is not "mass newsgroup hypnosis". I happily noted the quick shifts on my 4.6 automatic. I roared up the freeway onramp feeling increased power. I tried to explain it all to my wife. She said I was "grounded" until I put up the Christmas lights. End of report, except to say that if I can install the Superchip...anyone can!

Well, I'm gonna get my chance to prove how little I know about these things very soon. I've ordered Sal's PSP chip and air filter combo for my Lightning and they should be here any day now. Hope I can "do it" as well as you have.

BillyBoggs,

Your wife sounds an awful lot like mine! Check those Christmas lights over real careful, I'll lay odds a few are burned out! Now you'll have to run to the store and replace those burned out bulbs... one at a time!

Have fun! I hope to make the plunge myself after the 1st of the year!

Mike,
I have been working on my wife to "let" me get a Superchip for Xmas. I think I just about have her convinced. Upon our last conversation on the subject in her sarcastic voice she said "Just go out and buy what ever you want for Xmas". I know it will probably be a Superchip but I had visions of maybe a Y2K Lightning or maybe something erotic and exotic for my current truck like a supercharger "blower" or something like that if you know what I mean.
I guess I had better not push it. A divorce could really be expensive.
I'll be calling you Mike to order one as soon as I get the positive for sure "OK" from the boss.
How long does it take from the time I call you till I can expect the chip to show up at my front door?

Cool

You've just got to love this time of year. The little children all nestled in their beds, dads have visions of Superchips dancing in their heads...

I figured that now that the Superchip is installed it's high time I ask Santa for the 3" Gibson exhaust with the 3.5" stainless steel tip. And just in case he doesn't bring it - I'm doing my, "Honey, can I get a (fill in the blank here) after Christmas?" approach.

Happy Holidays All.

REDONE:

I tried to run the new Lightning idea by my wife as well and she didn't bite, but I DID manage to weasel my way into a supercharger! It's actually done wonders for my marriage... "Hey Honey, do you need anything from the store? I can run down and pick up some bread or milk or whatever." and "Hey Sweetheart, why don't you let me drive the baby around if she's driving you crazy... I'm sure she'll fall asleep in the truck".

Dear BillyBoggs,

Congratulations on getting it installed, and not having to pay someone else to do it for you!

Now you'll be finding all sorts of excuses to "run to the store" for this, that, and of course, the other.

Have fun,

Dear REDONE,

That will all depend on where you are, and how quickly you have us ship it. Depending on the time of day, most orders ship same day. Contact me privately for detailed info on that, and we can go over where you are, and the various shipping options to get it where you need it in time. Our phone and email are below.

Yeah, I've known Mike to be a true 'good-guy'. In addition to him being a professional and caring about his customers - he also has the ability to walk on air (I've seen him do it), swing from a trapeze and also plays a mean guitar. He is a friend.

Mike is for real - believe it.

Hey guys,

I just got off the phone with Superchip Mike and ordered mine. The BOSS gave me the "for sure OK" last night.

Mike Troyer is very helpful and kinda makes me smile as I know I am talking to a truely professional person that cares and wants to steer everbody he talks to in the right direction. If I ever order anything and find a more helpful person I will be TRUELY suprised.

This is a big THANK YOU to you Mike.

Now all I have to do is wait for the superchip to get to my door step.

Got my new Superchip yesterday and installed it last night. Merry Xmas to me early. Nothing prettier than a empty Superchip box under the Xmas tree ( if you know what I mean).

OH BABY!!!!!!! What a difference.

I filled up the tank with Citgo gas on the way home and after eating supper I went to my dads house cause he has a heated garage. It took all of about an hour cause I decided to take the battery out and the battery holder to make the job easier. After installing the chip (what a breeze) and buttoning it all up we went for a test ride.
Well let me tell you. The night air was thick with humidity and temp around 45 F. I headed right to the highway where the ole' F150 could stretch it's legs. Upon turning onto the highway I nailed the throttle. Immedently the rear tires started to spin and the tach zoomed to 5000 rpm. With a sudden thump it shifted to second and off we went down the road. Upon the next stop light with the truck at a full stop and straight I feathered the throttle so as not to let it shift into second. When the truck caught up to the wheel speed I again nailed the gas and let her rip this time all the way to 95 mph. First gear 5000 rpm, second gear 4700 rpm and running out of safe road. Not bad at all for a truck weighing in at 5700 lbs.

More to come later,

Thank you Mike T., Superchips and all of you out there. Superchip lives up to its name with me!!!! Shifts firm and positive, better throttle response and more "seat of the pants" feel. A must upgrade in my book.

Dear Superchips_Distributor,

Just some quick questions, with the superchip is there a need to run 92 octane or does 87 work fine? And is there a model for the 2000 4.6L? Thanx Mike for any help.
