Post Superchip with a Manual?

Does anybody have a chip with a manual transmission? I have a manual, and wonder how much of a difference I would expect.

I've got the v6 with the 5 speed. I can light em up at will. Just a little tweak of the pedal to break em loose and then hit it. The stock tires couldn't handle it at all. Embarashing to burn rubber at every start without trying when the chicks ain't around. Almost undrivable when wet. These Miches do handle it a lot better. It's the strongest v6 I've ever seen. :-)

DAMN FLEXING DOOR CRACK!

Ford Engineering, reinforce the curve in the door! The cracks will stop.

Fordby4,

I had a 97 4.6l with 5 speed and now a 00. It does make a difference. You have to use 91+ octain and drive it around the block a few times. You will notice that you do not need as much pedal as before.

Dear Fordby4,

As you can see from the responess you've already gotten, the Superchip works very well on manual transmission vehicles too. The manual transmission vehicles gain the same power increases as the automatics do. The primary difference is simply that we cannot firm up the upshifts, since it's a manual. Because of the more efficient transmission programming, the automatics will reduce their acceleration times a little bit more than the manuals will, but only 1 or 2 tenths of a second difference in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, not very much at all.

So you'll still see basically the same benefits from using the Superchip with a manual transmission.

Good luck with your truck,

Thumbs up

fordby4: you didn't mention which engine you have!! I had a 97 4x4 V8 manual that I put a superchip on. Noticed right then that it had more power. My shifting patterns changed too because of the higher revs. Really woke that beast up. Now I'm getting another truck, a manual of course only it's a diesel and YES I will be putting a superchip on it too. After driving the truck with and with/out the chip I personally won't ever go with/out again
