Didn't think about it at the time I filled up! I figured I could run it with 87 ONCE! Apparently NOT!

I still don't think 1 tank of 87 would hurt my engine at all! But I'm gonna do what Mike T tells me on this one!

I guess EVERYONE who's bought the Supership has PERFECTLY TIMED the installation with the purchase of their last tank of gas???

I'll bet many people are not even aware of the octane issue before the purchase!

I've done worse... and will continue to do BONE-HEADED things till I die.... Boy thats depressing!

Dear Rand,

You're right, you aren't the *only* person who's done that. He's just teasing with you since you made so many requests for information, and all that was covered, so he's just busting your chops, to coin a phrase.

Don't get bent out of shape, it's all just good-natured kidding, ok? We razz each other around here quite a bit, as we're a very friendly bunch. Maybe it's the relaxed atmosphere we're lucky to have here, in that people kind of get to "know" one another here, and feel comfortable trading jokes & barbs pretty quickly. It's all in fun, so don't be offended, please!

All the best,

Of course we are just kidding. And I have been waiting for days for just the right time to use that Bob Dole thing! You just happened to be the first one. Behold the power of cheese.

Sorry Rand I didn't mean to upset you but then again you did deserve it, now didn't you? Come on... admit it.

That's true that we need a better way of transmitting sarcasm. I always try to use the wink or smile thingy but I am never sure it comes across that way.

Thanks for takin it the right way. As we say down here in the South, "You are a hoot."

Mike,
We won't say anything about someone <cough> who had 39 gallons of 87 octane in when his chip arrived now will we!?

Sorry for not getting back to you F1502yk, but look under engines, "71¢ fresh air sysytem" and that will tell you what I did to make up the bigger air flow system.

I was getting 11 to 12 .2 mpg on my truck and after installing this PVC pipe system, I am up to 14.1mpg, used the same gas and drove just as I always do, so maybe....It works.
Can't try anymore of that same gas, put in a superchip and now it's 93 time.
Try it and good luck..

Thumbs up

Rand: I've just now gotten around to reading this and I'm really glad you're (almost) enjoying your new superchip I too have just installed a chip onto my new truck and because it's a diesel, I didn't have to run out the existing tank of fuel to add premium (there's no such thing) But I did have to with my other truck. It too seemed to want to go FOREVER on that last little bit of 87.

It would be nice if we had some new smiley faces. The diesel board has some moving ones that help out with the "expressing one's self" without offending others, thing.

$38.00 later and SUPERSHIPPED!

Thats my new saying for people like me who own an Expedition with a SuperChip!

Its a SUPERSHIP! Toot - Toot! "Permission to come aboard sir!"

So far no probs with the check egine light!

Runs great with the 93 and chip! I know the more I drive, the better it gets!

Dear Rand,

OKay, thanks for letting us know. It doesn't happen often, but every once in awhile running the Superchip with 87 can throw a check engine light, especially if you run it hard.

With premium in the tank, the Superchip can now do it's job like it was designed to.

Have fun!
