The Gibson 3" swept side is the only exhaust they sell that is recomended for towing. Thats why I bought it. I did want some more sound but I didn't want too much so it's a hard call for me. From what I read most loud exhausts don't have the back pressure you need for higher torque. Who knows for sure.
I think I paid $278 for my system but I did the installation. No problem with fit. Your price must have been for the SS system.

Agree with "ALLFORD", the Sweptside is specifically engineered for towing and offroad use, the other Gibson systems are not. I researched the H*** out of this before I got my sweptside last spring, paid about $255. plus $20 shipping from Truck Performance Center, paid $75 for installation, nothing had to be rebent. It has gotten a little louder with more miles, have about 10,000 on it, and am happy with it.

I have to agree with the majority here on the Gibson, that one system is the only one they (meaning Gibson) market that is engineered specifically for towing, so you don't lose torque in the lower rpm ranges.

Another point is that Gibson is *legendary* for fit & finish & ease of installation. We work with dealers who sell everything from Borla to Flowmaster to you name it, and they have all said that Gibson is the easiest to install, fits better than Borla & others, and they actually prefer installing the Gibson systems due to this.

That's the feedback we get, anyway, so I thought I'd just give a quick post.

Good luck,
