re: grin

I gotta agree. You've been askin' about chips for two years now. It's time to drop a dime and take the plunge.
I have a smile ear to ear about that comment. I'm not posting on this forum again until I call superchips and order my chip or tuner.

haha, thanks for the advice !

Hi Phat,

Don't you worry about that, you post whatever you need to - you might see me suggest the Search feature if it's about something frequently discussed, but the bottom line is, you have a right to any info you need or want. (I do have to confess I did get a laugh from that post.)

To answer your other question, sure, I can do the exact same custom tuning in our single program custom SCT chip, the only difference is that you'd have a single tune instead of multiple tunes. Given the extremely small cost differential between the single program custom chip (5500) and the 4-program custom chip (6600), I'd suggest opting for the 6600 and get the multiple tunes so you have maximum flexibility - but that's up to you, do whatever your budget can tolerate comfortably. We can get you every last ounce of performance in our custom tunes regardless of which product we deliver them to you in.

One ringy-dingy.....................two ringy-dingy............... (just kidding!)

(Yeah, yeah I know I said I wasn't going to post until I purchased a chip) but it's not that I'm still deciding whether or not I'm going to buy it, it's a matter of getting the money in the correct place to make the purchase comfortably.

It's the $65 dinner with my girlfriend, her friend and her friend's boyfriend, the $50 tank of gas every week between the 30 - 40 minute drive to and from work, a $100 payment towards the $300 I have left to pay off the rims, and $150 payment towards the truck itself that make my pay checks seem... not so big. It's been a costly month as far as that stuff is concerned.

However, on a good note, I was finally able to finish a side job paint/staining a deck that got put off 3 weeks ago when I started my new job. It landed me some extra loot which is always helpful.

With a paycheck for last week's work and the cash that I made with painting, I'll be able to comfortably make the purchase out of checking, as I won't let myself dip into savings.

So I'm sorry for sounding like a broken record saying over and over again that, "I'm going to, I'm going to," and not actually ever doing it.

I'll need to make the call on one of my 1:00 - 2:00 lunch hours as I work from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., assuming that Superchips Co. is closed before and after these hours.

Bear with me It'll be soon!

Lightbulb 9100 Update

After finally running down the tank to the "low fuel" light, I filled up with 91 Octane. I had never been so looking forward to buying gasoline before! I loved my 89 Octane Performance/Tow Tune, but the 91 Maximum Performance Tune is even more impressive!

I'm still amazed that hooking up a tuner and punching some buttons could do so much! All in 10 minutes and you don't have to get your hands dirty!

Unfortunately, Peddler1000 was right when he said "that power becomes addicting". For sure! Friday, the 4.10's go in! More on that if you read the thread "Question for Mike Troyer". (Lots of good info from Mike in there.)

To sum up, I'm really grateful to those of you on F150 Online that contributed to my knowledge and introduced me to Mike Troyer and his custom Superchips 9100!

To Mike and all of you, thanks!

DeeAnna

Congrats DeeAnna...can't wait to get mine, Anita said it should be shipped tomorrow. I keep putting 5 bucks here and there so that I don't have to wait to run down a tank of 87 octane..

Thanks, Sniper!

That's a good idea. One thing though, that first full-tank of premium is $$$! Ofcourse, I filled-up at the 76 in Beverly Hills and normally never let the gauge drop below 1/2. It seems like the gas mileage is actually going to be better with our 91 Octane tunes, atleast thats what my odometer and gas gauge is indicating. According to mathematics (and Mike), with the better gas mileage we achieve, the additional cost of premium gas is mitigated, i.e. our cost per mile will be the same or less than with the stock tune!

Enjoy your new 9100! Fill-up, tune-it-up, then get out and "snipe" those Chevys!!!

yep that is the experience that I had with my Diablo chip, but on the downside, I could NOT keep my foot out of it...the POWER is addicting.
