9100 is on it's way!

I got the UPS tracking number today, it's on it's way...

On a different note ~ I got into it with a Porsche Cayenne today and it wasn't pretty. He walked away from me like nothingl....Dang, those things are fast!

oh well, guess you can't win'em all..I'll try him again when I get my 9100, but I still don't think I can keep up with that thing..

tps update!

well, I finally got to get out and drive my truck a little bit after getting the new tps and setting it to .98-.99. The truck has a much quicker response and the shifts are also quicker. Don't know what the tps has to do with the shifts but it doesn't slip into gear anymore. Between the polishing of the tb elbow and the tps my truck will now stay in overdrive. I can be cruising along at about 70 and ease down the gas and it doesn't kick out of lock-out. It drives much better.

If your thinking of adjusting your tps.....do it! Make sure the voltage is at .99. Mine was at 1.06v (at first, before I broke it and screwed it up and had to buy a new one) from the factory and I didn't think it was that big of deal until now.

WELL, I GOT IT!

It took me about 10 minutes from start to finish to make an incredible difference to my truck. I've been filling up with 91 octane ever since Mike called me and said that it had been shipped out. I went ahead and loaded the 91 High Performance tune. WOW..what a difference. The shifts alone are incredible and probably worth the money.

I'm really sick today, so I didn't drive it too much, just enough to get it up to 2nd gear, and it barked the tires when it shifted!!!

I will try to get out and drive it more here shortly when I start feeling a little better.

Thank Mike and TroyerPerformance in general for the prompt service and quality product...and by the way, there is NO surging.. Talk to you guys soon.

well, I'm feeling a little better, but not much! Still haven't driven the truck much.

BUT, my buddy I work with has a Nissan Titan and my dad's friend has a Dodge Ram with the Hemi..we're goiing to get together and line them up this weekend. I'm going to try them without the tuner then with it...see what happens.

I'm trying to get my grubby little hands on a digital camcorder, this should be great. I got into it with a Durango with a Hemi yesterday coming up Big Bear Mountain...anybody that has been up here knows what I'm talking about and smoked him. He couldn't loose me in the corners and in the straight-aways I was all over him. He finally had to concede and pull over and let me around. When I went around him, he had this weird look on his face my wife said...she was laughing and pointing at him...

She really likes my (her) truck!

Hi CS,

Glad to hear you got it installed & are enjoying your new custom tuning!

Try not to pick on those poor 'ole Hemi's too much, now.

well, I finally got to get my truck out and drive it a bit this weekend. I went hunting/scouting and the road that I have to take is two lane a lot of the way. I loaded the 91 tow safe mode, because I had all of my camping stuff and my Yamaha Grizzly in the bed. Probably at least 1000 pounds worth of stuff. Anyway, the truck performed wonderfully. I got 18+ mpg and drove it hard. One little story that I will share:

As I said before it is mostly two-lane. US 395 is open road and has a lot of passing opportunities. Well, I was first in line behind a Tractor Trailer and when it turned dotted it was off to the races. I pulled out to pass and there was a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited v8 behind me. I'm no Jeep expert, but last I checked those things were pretty strong. When we pulled out to pass I was pulling away from him like nothing. That 9100 is amazing. I didn't kick down to 2nd gear or anything. It kicked into 3rd though but I was gone in a second and back into overdrive by the time I made it around the truck. I am really impressed with the performance, shifting and the fact that it took me about 8 minutes to get it back to 91 Performance mode when I got home...

If anyone is on the fence about getting one of these things go for it..give Mike a call and have the custom tuner done for your truck...(geez, I sound like an infomercial)..oh well.

Thanks Mike.

72 mustang

lets see....(papers are in front of me)...I circled *Firm*

yes it shifts much better now. It churps the tires when it hits second now at wot. I've only had it on the 91 performance mode and 91 tow mode and only here where I live at 6700 feet on the performance mode. I still haven't had a chance to take it down the hill in performance mode. This elevation takes some of my power. Can't wait to take it down there and light'em up. You'll be very pleased....oh by the way, did you get your pullies/e-fans?

Hi CS,

Those V8 GC Limited's *are* pretty darn strong in stock trim. The original 360 V8 (5.9) model did a bone-stock 0-60 time of well under 8 seconds - that's very strong for a stock SUV, and much quicker than the average stock 4WD F-150, which usually takes upwards of, or slightly over, about 10 seconds for 0-60. The newer 4.7 V8 GC Limited's are also quick - usually they'll blow away most stock 4WD F-150's by about 15+ lengths in the 1/4 mile.

Sounds like your truck is running pretty darn well just by the descriptions from these "encounters" on the street - nice to hear it's chirping the tires on the WOT 1-2. Just to give you an idea of what's happening power-wise at your elevation - engines lose 3% of their power for every 1000 ft. above sea level elevation. So at 6700 ft, you are operating at only 80% (in round numbers) of your "normal" power at sea level - you're down on power by a whopping 20% compared to sea level power levels.

Have fun!

WOW!!!!

that's amazing, I didn't know I was only using about 80%

I'm about ready to take off a day of work just to take my truck down the hill, with nothing in it and 91 Performance mode tuned! I'm now trying to talk my wife into letting me get the underdrive pullies and e-fans from you, Mike.

Oh by the way, my brother-in-law just got a new Titan crewcab and I noticed that it already has electric fans...pretty cool. Can't wait to get him on some open road though. I want to see how my truck runs against that Titan crewcab 4x4...and another thing, I saw a Titan today that had some exhaust put on it...sounded like crap..I don't know what kind of muffler or set up he had, but it sounded awful.
