I have a 1998 F-150 4x4, 4.6l. I looked for the code on the passenger side door but no sticker was there. Is there any other place I can find this code?

 

Hi 72ijmbo,

Sure, no problem. As you already know, the first place to look on 1997 & newer F-150's for that code is on the passenger side, open the front door, and then look in the front part of the door frame, in between the door hinges, and the code sticker should be right there.

If that sticker is missing, then you can simply go to the computer itself, as "sprhck" so kindly pointed out. Your computer is mounted on the passenger side also, most of it is inside the cabin, to the right of the dash assembly and just above the passenger's kick panel. It will be held against it's mounting bracket by a black pressure clip. Just pull that pressure clip off (the computer won't fall, don't worry), and then look on the back of the computer where that clip was covering up, and right there you'll see another code sticker.

Look up under the passenger side under the dash. The computer is right there with the code on the side. I had the same problem on my 97. The sticker was warn away.
