Never tried it on a 4.6 - I suppose it could work if a given 4.6 had the same throttle body cover as the 5.4, but we've never tried it.
You see, those custom throttle body covers were designed specifically to close up the big gaps you see on the 5.4's under their stock throttle body covers after installing many of the aftermarket intake kits - in this case, it was designed specifically for the Air Force One intake on the 1997-2003 F-150 & Expedition with 5.4 V8's.
