New Product Release!

Hello all,

Superchips has just released the world's first tuner for the 2006 model year Powerstroke diesel SuperDuty trucks - the #1706 Micro Tuner!

Just like the 1704 Micro tuner for the previous year 6.0 PSD's this new tuner offers 3 different programs -

1.) Towsafe tune - + 60 HP & 92 lb/ft. torque

2.) Fuel Economy tune - + 97.3 HP & 145 lb/ft torque

3.) Performance tune - + 105.2 HP & 160.3 lb/ft of torque

This new unit is shipping right now, with a very heavy demand for all the new 2006 6.0 Powerstroke diesel owners, so get your order in quick - and remember, as a registered member of F-150 Online, you get a special additional discount that is NOT reflected in the price you will see listed on our web site (that applies to ALL our tuning products) - so to get your best price, call us at our number listed below!

The features are all the same as the 1704 Micro Tuner for the 2005 & earlier 6.0 Powerstroke diesels, so you can read about all of that on our web site - we'll have the 1706 Micro Tuner listed on our site shortly, but as always, we let F-150 Online members know FIRST!

As always with Superchips tuning, the EGT's are safe - they don't go for that last ounce of power at the cost of reducing reliability or durability, full normal engine life is retained as with all their products.

This product was just released - literally less than an hour ago, and we just got clearance to announce the product publicly - you heard it here first!

For any questions, product details, etc., please give us a call at our number listed below, or read about it on our web site (it'll be posted there later today).

Call (540) 862-9515 to get your 1706 Micro Tuner for your 2005 Ford Powerstroke diesel!

I like seeing these types of numbers....any chance for these with just a tune in the F150s or are the dynamics just not present?

hell they cant even handle themselves in stock form. personally I wouldnt trust a 6.0 with mods just yet. seen too many issues with them. I would be waiting until ford gets them dialed a bit better. now a 7.3 I would have no doubts about but thats a differnt story

The 2002 and later 7.3 came with powdered metal rods and on the diselstop forum they report that these rods are not any good past 325HP...add to that the 7.3 cackle issue, LL8 fix/non-fix, fuel delivery issues, HPOP and turbo Pedistal problems....I could go on...the 7.3 in Fords clothing is NOt bullet proof!

All I am saying is the 6.0 seems to have alot more problems in stock form than the 7.3s had. ford just doesnt have all the bugs worked out of these things yet

1.) No, of course no F-150 is ever going to see those kinds of power gains from tuning alone - that's strictly turbo-diesel territory, not a low-compression normally aspirated gasoline engine!

2.) The fact is, we here at Toyer performance have provided thousands of 7.3 AND 6.0 Powerstroke diesel owners with the Superchips tuning - and NOT ONCE have we EVER had a single customer report any engine damage as a result of using the Superchips tuning.

Yes, the 6.0 does have some issues from the factory, just like the 7.3 does, and just like every other single vehicle does - but they have nothing to do with the Superchips tuning, nor does that tuning reduce their service life - *PERIOD*.

We have 11+ years of solid data on 7.3's and almost 4 years of data on the 6,.0's, and not one single time has engine service life been reduced or an engine damaged from using that tuning. And *nothing* speaks more importantly than that kind of track record.

For example, 7,3's tend to eat camshaft position sensors - we recommend carrying a spare for every 7.3 PSD owner, regardless of model year.

Now in the 6.0's, and this affects primarily a few of the 2003 models, they do have a tendency to have fuel injector leaks causing gallons of diesel fuel to be dumped into the crankcase - but none of that is from the Superchips tuning, of course - and it affects a very small number of them.

Additionally, the talk of "powered metal" rods is grossly overblown - usually by those who really don't know their construction or capabilities or design limitations, etc. in most cases. For example, I have literally dozens upon dozens upon dozens of 5.4 GAS engines with powered metal rods making 700+ HP with no failures - as long as our owners do as we instruct them to.

The only issue we have ever seen with PSD engines being hurt by tuning comes from other companies products who push them way too far, in their attempt to make the marketing claim "we make more power than anyone else." Well, there's maximum power, and then there's maximum **safe & sustainable** power, and they are 2 very different things - and what Superchips does is go for maximum **safe & sustainable** power.

You will notice that you just don't see any track record of posts here in this section from PSD owners claiming that their engine was damaged by the Superchips tuning - there's a reason for that, it doesn't happen.

Superchips stands behind their products 100%, they always have - any owner claiming engine damage from the Superchips diesel tuning has only to contact the manufacturer and they will thorough investigate immediately, and should any Superchips tuning be found to have caused damage on a vehicle, they will reimburse that customer - period. They have ALWAYS had that policy, and stand by it very aggressively - Any PSD owner trying to claim that Superchips tuning has damaged the engine of your Powerstroke diesel is invited to submit your proof to the manufacturer, and we will also follow up on it - Superchips WILL investigate.

Superchips thoroughly tests these products on many of these vehicles, including towing tests at max loads up the side of a mountain (literally), stringently monitoring EGT's (exhaust gas temperatures), etc., and not once has a SINGLE customer of ours ever reported any such problems - period.

That kind of track record speaks far more than anything else - there's a important reason why to date, we have yet to see any evidence of engine damage due solely to the proper installation & use of Superchips tuning for any Powerstroke diesel engine among ANY of our thousands of PSD customers here at Troyer Performance.

So let's not get out of hand promoting rumors, scare stories, etc that simply have no bearing on this - the fact is, there is NO track record of any damage to the engines in any 7.3 or 6.0 Powerstroke diesel engines due to the Superchips tuning - and anyone attempting to claim otherwise needs to present their evidence to the manufacturer - not here, to the manufacturer, and feel free to cc (carbon copy) any such "evidence" to us here at Troyer Performance, as we Will follow up with Superchips on that.

The bottom line is, there is no safer tuning on the market for the Ford Powerstroke diesel than the Superchips "MAX" series Micro Tuners - they have tuned for more PSD's than any other company, and have far more data on those vehicles as they accumulate miles with performance tuning than anyone else.

I hope that helps clears up a few things - but at any rate, those are the facts.
