Off for another R&D session for a few days!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to drop everyone a quick note to let you know that I am boarding a plane in a couple of hours for another major R&D session, and thus will be gone for a few days. I will be dropping by here during that time of course as I can, as always, and our full normal staff will still be here at the office and open our normal full hours during these few days.
Now over the past week, we have been burning the midnight oil even harder (if that's actually possible?!?) getting your custom tunes knocked out, and a lot of people are going to be very happy this week as their units arrive - and when I get back, we'll get the rest knocked out quickly. Just FYI - where we stand right now is that we're basically back to our normal timeframe, this next R&D trip notwithstanding. Meaning specifically, right now we are back down to just 14 business days form he time you get us your completed CPW's (our Custom Program Worksheets) filled out & actually back to us until we have your tuning completed and are ready to actually ship it out the door - so we're thru with the backlog, finally! However, this R&D trip will add exactly 3 days to a few of the newest tunes that have recently come in, but once I'm back in the office on Saturday we'll get those made up & caught up once again, and thus we should still be pretty close on that timeframe.
During this time, as always, or staff will be here everyday for our full normal hours - I'm be the only one "out of pocket," so to speak, but even at that, if there are any actual emergencies, or more complex configurations/vehicles where the vehicle owners really need to speak directly with me personally, I should be able to attend to them at some point in the evening of each day.
As always, our R&D trips are absolutely necessary for us to stay at the top of our game, so to speak, and thanks to everyone for your patience on those 3 days I'll be out - but I'll still be keeping an eye on you here and available during the evenings for emergency Tech Support & complex configurations, highly modified vehicles & detailed consultations, as always!
Just wanted to let everyone know, & have fun - especially all of you who just got and the bunch of you who are getting your new tuning & parts this week - be careful & don't wrap yourselves around a telephone pole racing your buddy's vehicles or other such nonsense now that you'll have a lot more power, TS limiters removed, etc., OK? You guys be careful, as always!
Our bests to you all, and a special thanks to all of you who help others here so much - people like jpdadeo, MGDFan, NJSteve, LesPhelps, Phil K., watsonr, and so many others (and please don't be offended that I didn't name everyone by their screen name, as I can remember only so many off the very top of my head) who know who you are and so does everyone else, as your help really stands out to everyone! That is what the spirit of F-150 Online is all about, so many thanks to all of you who help so many others, take a bow!
OK, that's it for now, everyone - take care, please be safe & see you all soon!

Safe trip, Mike!
Please resist the urge to datalog the airplane while enroute, okay?
Not sure the pilots would be thrilled about some helpful, energetic guy looking for the USB/OBD or whatever port in the ****pit ... altough the airlines sure could use some better performance & mileage out of those beauties!
I mean, can you imagine how BIG the "Troyer Performance" sticker would need to be ???
Cheers!
Vic
EDIT - quick - what's another word for ****pit - you know, where the captain sits and watches while the plane flies itself - the forum won't let me post the real name !!!

You guys crack me up -
We'll never be able to afford our own Learjet (though I actually have spoken with the younger Lear on a number of occasions from some other exploits - one of the world's most capable pilots, who also held every certification that existed as of a few years ago, I think he was the first to do that).
I rather doubt that any airline would think much of me trying to datalog one of their jets or trying to tune it - pretty funny, Vic. Though we actually have tried getting some UPS drivers to let us tune their Powerstroke diesel delivery trucks......
Thanks guys - our week went well - but it's sure good to be back home again!

Well, I'd say yes & no, but overall, not really
There was one semi-interesting thing with regard to shifting patterns to reduce "shift hunting," but we were basically already doing that before, just in a different way that accomplished the same thing.
But we always have to always do more and more R&D, no matter how long we tune this platform we always have to keep trying other things, etc., that is always a non-stop process, basically.
We did get some software fixes for some outstanding issues that we were having to do some work-arounds for, so that may help us speed things up a bit - and we do now have all the presently released 2006 FoMoCo vehicle codes, so the 2006 F-150, 2006 PSD's, 2006 Lincolns, etc.
Overall, that's about it, really.
