Mike T?
Hey I would just give you a call but I am in Afghanistan and thought if I could get an answer here than that would be better than a nice staticky phone call. Well I am going to order the Xcal 2 when I get back probably early to mid Oct. well my question is everyone on here is worried about HP, well I have a truck not a drag car, I like to go fourwheelin and playing on the trails, what about a max torque tune, or is the max perf tune the most torque or would that be considered the tow tune. Also I want to order my AF1 intake but in order to get the discount do I have to call or is there a way to do it online, and I can't wait to get back home and get my Hurst shifter on. Thanks for any answers

You should be able to get the discount on the web order if you put your f150online name in the comments and ask for the discount. I got it even though I did not know the actuall discount price. I did call to confirm that I was getting the discount after ordering online.
Hope this may be helpful to you.

Hi 02Sport4x4,
First - thanks for serving your country, and especially for being one of the all-too-few troops assigned in what I personally feel is the right place for actually fighting some of the world's most vicious homes for terrorism (which ISN'T IRAQ - though I do feel Bush Sr. should have gone to Baghdad and cleaned things up right the first time around) - Too bad we don't have 200K properly equipped & supported troops in Afghanistan getting the job done and crossing over into Pakistan if need be & doing whatever it takes -and to heck with whoever doesn't like it, after 9/11 - OOPS! Sorry, don't mean to get on my political soapbox - just really wanted to say thanks & that my wife & I will say prayers that you get back home safe, son.
OK, on to relevant matters...........
When we do our performance tuning on non-pro race vehicles, it's not a situation where we go for all out highest possible horsepower *at the expense of torque.* We're going to get every bit of torque we can make, and then whatever the HP ends up at is where it ends up at - see, *torque* is the only thing really measured, and horsepower is simply a *derived* number based on a equation that uses the torque numbers! This is why you will see on dyno plots that the Hp and the torque are the actually same number at 5252 rpm.
So you won't give up anything in *either* the torque OR the HP department, you will get everything there is to be had - that happens automatically. When you see the people here having us tune their trucks, they aren't ever giving up any torque because we're going for all-out peak HP at higher rpms, even if they drag race their trucks! Trucks need *torque* and the HP numbers are simply derived from the torque numbers via a mathematical equation, basically.
So in short - no worries on the torque.
Now, about your F-150 Online discount - you (and anyone else) can order any time thru our web site, and you just include your F-150 Online screen name in the "Special Instructions Text Box" that you will see somewhere in the online order-placing process - we'll verify all that automatically, and make sure you get your F-150 Online member discount that applies to all of our tuning products, don't you worry!
Thanks for your post, & come home safe!

no discount on packages for members
I ordered the stage one (online) and asked about f150online member discount in a e-mail and was told it doesn't pertain to the packages due to they are already discounted. No problem I think it's a fair deal, I would have just spent there towards something else. Great service so far, getting some stuff 8 days after I ordered.

Yeah I didn't get the package, I already bought the shifter, before I knew about the discount, and I bought the AF 1 yesterday and Anita sent me a email today saying I got the discount on it, and I am going to have to use a morale call to call mister Mike because I have decided I'm not buying new wheels, I am going to get the Xcal, too bad I just didn't get the stage 1 huh, but you live and learn. And Mike be expecting a call from me around the 15th of next month

Hi 02,
Don't worry, we'll take care of you even buying things 1 at a time, we do that for all our military guys - it's th least we can do.
And you aren't' far from us, we're less than an hour away from Roanoke, so it sounds like we should have dinner in Roanoke, if that's OK with you - and I *AM* buying, it's the least I can do to celebrate your safe homecoming!

Sounds good Mike, yeah I just niticed your post on the other thread, I called my buddy who has my truck while I'm over here and he said he couldn't find the computer code on my door jam so I will probably wait until I get home to order my Xcal though, but I guess thats the name of the game. Till Sept. then Mike

Hi 02 Sport,
If yours is a 2002 model (or any 1997-2003), you have have your buddy look inside the cabin, on the passenger's side - look above the passenger's kick panel - there he will see the PCM, it's a think aluminum box, about 6 inches high by 1.5" wide - there will be a black plastic pressure clip holing the PCM up against it's mounting bracket - have him pull that clip straight back, towards the back of the vehicle, and it will come right off - then he can look on the back of the PCM, as usually right under that clip is another code sticker, 3 letters and 1 number.
Just FYI in case he's willing to take another look for you - otherwise, don't worry about it, we'll just get you done when you get back home!!
