Mako ?
I was reading thread about the mako, How would I know if mine was done with mako or not? Actually I'm sure I'm alright I ordered mine on the 22nd, just curious, can't wait to get my stage one stuff, few of my fellow ford friends have bought other tuning products over the counter( again'st my advice of course) so I'm hoping to blow them away.

Well from what I understand Mako is out now, and did you turn your sheet in on the 22nd or place your order, but to make sure you can give them a call and I'm sure they would be happy to tell you, and if you haven't recieved your shipment verification yet I would be willing to bet money it has it. Just my thoughts

Hi Guys,
OK,before we see endless post after post & thread after thread with this exact same lien of questions - I'm going to give you the answer right here & now, and it's very simple -
If we tuned your vehicle on or after August 15th 2005, then YES, we used Mako to load your tunes - anyone who we loaded tunes for, or did tuning for BEFORE August 15th, then NO, we did NOT use Mako (Advantage 3.x) to load your tunes. End of story - very simple.
Though Mako (Advantage 3.x) was released for BETA TESTING ONLY to a few SCT dealers some time ago (just under 2 months ago, in fact), we did a LOT of beta testing, and did NOT start sending out tunes to our customers using it for some time - because it was a BETA TEST product, and we felt it was not ready to be used for tuning these trucks as there were some issues that needed to be addressed - and of course, this is PRECISELY why quality manufacturers like SCT DO beta testing, to identify any such issues. And they are to be commended for that.
It took some time to get those issues resolved with the manufacturer to our satisfaction for tuning these trucks - and tuning these trucks is NOT like tuning a Mustang or other vehicles, by the way, they have additional functions & other issues & layers of complexity that are not seen in some other FoMoCo vehicle platforms, of course.
Those issues were dealt with to the point where we were comfortable with the results of the tuning by roughly th end of the second week of August, so we started sending our tunes based on Mako (Advantage 3.x) STARTING ON AUGUST 15th, which was a Monday - anyone that we tuned before then did NOT get their tunes done under Mako - period.
So the bottom line is, those who we tuned from August 15th & later, YES you were done with Mako (Advantage 3). Those who we tuned earlier were NOT - very simple.
ALSO - for those who have been tuned since then, you do NOT need Extreme Tune and you do NOT need any .xtr files, etc. in order to be able to make minor tuning adjustments - you can do that right on your XCalibrator 2 when you plug it in and select to tune the vehicle "with options." Very cool!!!
What has to be remembered is that this is a brand new software application, re-written from scratch, and a very serious "mission-critical" type of application at that. So it can't be rushed, and had to be thoroughly tested - and there are still a number of issues that need to be addressed - the fine folks at SCT are working their keisters off doing that, but we are able to tune with Mako (Advantage 3.x) just fine now and have been since August 15th.
And by the way - how SCT gets done as much as they accomplish in such short times is nothing short of amazing, and the support they provide us with is nothing less than STELLAR.
Now, to answer the NEXT question that I'm sure 1000 people (at least) will immediately start in with, if your XCalibrator 2 was NOT loaded by us using Mako (Advantage 3.x), then can you have us do that for you?
YES YOU CAN - you will need to call us to make those arrangements and get an RMA number to send your unit in to us to have that done - there will be a small fee for that just to cover shipping & handling. So yes, we certainly can and will be more than happy to do that for you!!
You will first need to return your vehicle back to stock, and then send your XCalibrator 2 in, and we will then convert and reload your tunes back into your XCalibrator 2 using Mako, so that you will have the ability to make some minor tuning changes on screen, instead of having to use Extreme Tune - we are more than HAPPY to do that for you!
For details on any of this, please DO NOT SEND EMAILS AND DO NOT POST HERE - I have already answered all those basic questions, and from there/s it details for each individual - so to go over that, please give us a quick & simple phone call at our number listed below - our staff will be happy to take care of those details for you & get you taken care of - we want you to have every feature that is available just as quickly as possible, so we are more than happy to accommodate you!
I think that should take care of any questions on this matter - so again, for any details, please give us a quick call & we'll be happy to take care of you!
Congrats to everyone on having the most advanced tuning device on the market, the XCalibrator 2 - and remember that you have only 2 DAYS LEFT in which to get your order in to UPGRADE your original XCalibrator (9300) to the new XCalibrator 2!!
And last -a special congratulations to all of you who have the best F-150 tuning available, our Troyer Performance tuning, in the XCalibrator 2!
Have fun,
