Speed Correction and Xcal2

I'm lifting my truck in a few weeks( 2001 Ext.cab 4x4 5.4L) 6" Fabtech with 35's. What are you other guys with lifted trucks and bigger tires doing to correct the speedometer?? My buddy, a ford cert. tech. but no longer works at ford, plugged his snap-on computer into my truck to see if he could change the stock settings and enter in a bigger tire size to fix the speedo. Unfortunately he wasn't able to, but it was worth a shot. He told me the ford dealership can with there equipement, but i don't really feeling takeing it to them especially since I still have a warranty. Any suggestions??? Also is this xcal2 the best programmer out there??? I have been trying to read all of you threads and everyone seems to really like it. I want to get one. Where do I go?? Troyer Performance???

Thanks in advance, I will have pics of my truck soon and get them posted

My personal recommendation is Troyer Performance, I have an XCal2 they tuned for me and IMO it’s excellent. Mike specializes in tuning F150 and has done so for 14-years. You also get a discount on the price for being an f150.online member. The XCal2 can correct your speedo too

HI Speedstang,

Sounds like a wicked truck you;re going to have there!

All that any Ford dealership can do with their Ford equipment is plug in a gear ratio or tire size that was offered by FORD on that vehicle, in that model year - nothing else. SO no, they generally CANNOT fix your speedometer for tall tires, gear ratio changes,. etc.

That falls into the realm of us custom tuners, and we'll be happy to take care of that for you - and you'll pick up some very nice power gains at the same time, as well as better driveability and a correct speedo & odo, etc.

Just give us a call to go over any of the details on this, our staff will be happy to help you.

Good luck on your project!
