Air Force One Discontinued??

TruckAddons.com says that the AF1 has been discontinued, anyone else heard about this?

I know this should probably be posted in the exhaust/intake forum, but I also wanted to see if MT knew anything about this....

You sure it isn't just discontinued for that vendor?

First of all don't buy from Truckaddons the are located in Lexington where I live and they rip people off who come in there store all the time, I too have been screwed by them when I was younger, eveyone around here into car accessories knows not to go there, they are the kind of store that if you have a mullet, less the high school education, drive a Camero or sell drugs to buy your 26 inch wheels on your $1000 POS car they will take care of you otherwise they wil screw you on the price.

For example I called for a price on a part drove across town to get it, the price had mysteriously gone up $20.00 because that was the "old price" from the time I had called. when questioned why they told me its because they can do whatever they want.

I have also been told to get the F*%* out of the store by the owner for contacting the BBB on him.

Sorry to rant but just watch yourself when dealing with them, as far as the AF1 they probley just don't feel like selling one to you, that's how they are.

WW:

I've already got my AF1, just saw the "discontinued" on that website... Wasn't really intending to get anything from them, usually I'll stick to AutoAnything.com or TruckStuffUSA.com I got my 6-Piece Putco grille insert from TruckStuff and when I opened the package I found 2 of the 6 parts were identical and would not fit. After calling Putco (who said, tough luck, call whoever you ordered it from, even though the grille insert was shipped directly from Putco), TruckStuff was able to get Putco to send me the correct part free of charge. It should be here Tuesday :-)

WW is right though... while they may have come through for you on this -- and don't get me wrong, I'm glad they did -- they have shafted a good number of folks as well.

I'm not real tied in to the 'motor head' community other than through Trucks. As you guys know, bunches of folks know bunches of folks who know bunches of folks... naturally, they all talk (even in person sometimes - beyond the message boards). They have a really bad reputation around Kentucky and the surrounding area.

While I've never dealt with them, I won't deal with them because of stories like WW's (and others I've talked with)...

I'm not bashing here -- I've never had any experience with them but, based on others opinions, I probably won't ever have the opportunity to have a bad experience because I simply won't use them as a supply source.

... OT, looking at the pictures of the AF1... I just remembered that my filter stack was supposed to be pretty and blue. I have another item on my 'to do to the truck' list for tomorrow...

I called TrailBlazers aka TruckAddOns.com to get a price from them for an Undercover hard tonneau cover and they refused to give me a price over the phone and told me I had to come by the store for a price. As a result, I refuse to do business with them. Buyer beware!

This could have been avoided by one simple phone call to either us or the manufacturer.

At one point some months ago we were selling so many of their kits that they couldn't provide as many as we ordered due to the extremely high demand for what is the best intake kit available for the 5.4 3V F-150. We worked hand in hand with them to get as many as we could without taking their *entire* production - at one point we probably took 90% of their production - they have since geared up in a major way, and for months & months now have been able to supply in a very short period of time - just like they used to before they exploded in popularity. Hey, all companies have growing pains!

We have a very close relationship with AF1 and it's owners, and no, NOT because we are in any way "beholden" to them, but simply because it's a great product whose owners we have come to know personally - just as we do with *many* of the companies whose products we carry and influence. As most people know we had a very large hand in the design of the AF1 for the 2004 & up F-150 5.4 3V trucks - so trust me, if they were going anywhere, we'd be the first to let you know.

So relax, gang - AF1 is still here.

Great will you get 'em to make an encased version please, a little water tight maybe. I know someone who could use one.

Yes, but aparently that choice would have been too easy.
