Hey now, we are all proud to be assholish around here.

Did you get an Xcal2 or the 1715, I think that is the number? That is the generic tuned programer.

Probably give Troyer a call and see if he can do anything for you,
540-965-7123 He will usually have time to talk with you and will no doubt answer far more questions than you have. He loves talking about this stuff, or at least that is my impression from the few times i have spoken with him.

good luck

Do you think that $100-150 would be reasonable for a used one?
What does it cost new with TP tunes?
Thanks

There are no custom tunes loaded to it, nor did i know there could be. its a stock tuner unit brand new in box from SCT.

And as far as appology i guess ill appologize, but that was an ignorant responce to me, so i replied to such a responce. replying "the search button is ur friend" is an assholish responce that noone needs to hear/see/read.
what does it say on the front of the flash device, "SF" or "XCal2"??
XCal2 is shipped blank to custom tuners like Troyer,
SF is a canned tuner built on XCal2 form, which is what I think you have..
also a SF firmware upgrade can be downloaded from www.SCTFlash.com this will convert a SF to XCal2, then the Flash Device can be custom tuned.. this upgrade is non-reversible.. after upgrade you will have a BLANK XCal2 Flash Device......

Lets see, live load 3 will convert your SF to XCal2 Custom Flasher, Raptor I think is used with a differant SCT device...
your best bet is to call Mike at Troyer, he will gladly go over any question you have and can give you way better info than I can....
just make sure to use a land line phone or make sure you cell phone is FULLY CHARGED.... he will cover evey question you give him in the greatest of detail... there customer service is second to none....

if thats what you want to do, you don't need "live update" thats a firmware update...
you need SCT SF UPDATE to install one of the strategy updates either 9415a or 9415b... but it looks like 07 mustang is still not suported...

Hi.

Holy crap - you may not be new to forums but looks to me as though you are new to manners ...

There is not a lot on the SF model here, so you'd be better off either contacting SCT directly (great folks to talk to), or joining & posting on their forums for answers.

Meanwhile:

Firmware (now @ v1.14) is the code that 'run's the device itself - menu's etc, etc. You would update the firmware to provide the latest supportfor livelink v3.1.31, & bugfixes.

The SF update is the actual database of calibrations for the PCM/strategy code versions of a range of PCM's / vehicles. Which is why it's revised frequently - new ones are always being added.

It's very likely your '07 GT is already /will soon be supported with one of these updates.

Again - best advice is to call SCT. What you don't want to do is flash your PCM with the wrong stuff.

Hope this helps. Be nice to us - we'll be nice right back. And yes - Search is still a viable response.

Cheers
Grog
