What Chip, Tuner, or Programmer should I buy?
I have a 2006 XLT Super Crew with a 6" lift with 35" tires and 20" rims. I tow a 24' travel trailer and the big tires just bog my motor down when pulling big hills. I even when I drop it into 2nd gear and still cant get it to downshift. I have the Overdrive turned off but pretty sure its my big tires causing the problem. I need a power tuner, chip or programmer but want something I dont have to download crap all the time for. What do I buy!

I'm pretty sure that edge still hasn't come out with tunes for the late model 06's yet, and the Xcal2 from TP is very highly regarded. The only con is that the Xcal2 will be at least 6 weeks before you get it because it is a custom tune written for your specific application and the group buy goin on right now (which is an amazing deal). If you figure the edge tunes might take longer, it's a no-brainer. Order your Xcal2 right now. Seriously, right now. Oh and remember to tell them that you're a member. Enjoy

From what I've read here this advice is not to be taken lightly! You might also consider changing gears to get back to stock final drive ratio, as no amount of tuning will replace the seat of the pants power you had before the tire change.

Hi bigliftbb,
This is a rather common problem, and we can take care of this for you - the best results will be had with our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as we have specialized in these vehicles longer than anyone, 15 years now, so that is what will get you the largest horsepower and torque gains, as well as correcting the shift characteristics, the speedometer & odometer calibration, and give much better overall driveability as well.
With regard to timeframe, right now we are running an average of about 20-22 business days from the time you order to the time we have your tuning done and are ready to ship it, just to give you an idea. And tuning the 2006's is not a problem, we've been tuning them ever since they rolled of the assembly lines.
In fact, you might want to take advantage of our Group Buy deal we have going on right now, as that will get you a great deal on our custom tuning, giving you a set of 3 different custom tunes set up any way you like. Here is a link that will take you to the info on our Group Buy, and then please feel free to give us ac all to go over any of this in more detail, too - we'll be happy to help.

I hope that info helps, & good luck with your truck!
