speedo off

first off i just joined the site b/c of my recent purchase - 05 150 fx4 6"suspension lift (i think, the blocks off the axle are 7.5", anyone know about that?) 37x13.5x20 nitto mud grapplers on 20x10 moto metal rims.
question is i know for a fact that the odometer is off and i'm pretty sure the speedo is off. if i get a programmer can i recalibrate those items to deal with the issues?

Yes. Most of the tuners will allow for gear and tire changes.

My EDGE does and it's easy to do.

Check out the XCal2, it can adjust for tire size, etc, etc and it’s custom tuned * a must have IMO *

I have an Edge and it lets you change all that good stuff...i got pulled over by a state trooper who thought he was hot stuff saying "you know big tires make your speedometer wrong, right?" lol. too bad i had my edge with all the corrections in there so he didn't have crap on me...changed his mind on how fast i was going 3 times..lol. might be a good idea.

my buddy has an edge in his chevy 2500 hd (deisel) and when he changes levels, ie stage 1,2,3,4,5 the changes are very noticeable. what i'm asking is will an edge work in the same manner with a gasoline engine, can you have different power levels? first of all i would like to get my speedo and odometer back to normal but if i can have different levels, tunes i guess, that would be great, say one for fuel economy, towing, ***** out, etc.

EDGE will do that...

With the gasoline version you cannot change tuning levels on the fly because it has to reprogram the PCM with the key on but the engine off. It programs the PCM very quickly, though, usually in a couple of minutes. There are 3 levels of tuning in the EDGE, level 1 is tranny only, level 2 is 87 octane engine and tranny tuning-safe for towing, level 3 is 91 octane performance tuning-no towing. All 3 tunes can be customzed to your liking by changing shift points and shift firmness as well as a bunch of other options.

I see between +1 to +2 MPG city and highway. Towing doesn't count, might as well be dragging an open parachute behind the truck. I get 9 to 10 MPG towing. My 26 foot travel trailer is about as aerodynamic as a brick.

hey man...IT'S A TRUCK and a 4x4 on top of that! If you were looking for mileage, you should ave bought a ...whatever....I've been driving a 1982 F100 with a 1993 GT40 crate engine for 10 years and get about 10 or 11 mpg with it but it is a hoot to drive.....license tag reads "GO FAST" oh yeah my new 06 4x4 SCrew is getting about 12 with less than 1000 miles on the odometer...if it gets better okay, if not okay! i'll still love it and yesah, i kept the 82 for the fun it has been.

Hello 306 Stang,

Yes, we can correct that for you, and our tuner will also let you correct for any future changes to axle ratio and tire size - this affects not only the speedometer, but also the odometer and the automatic transmission shift points, too.

What will actually get you the best results in terms of overall driveability, actual power gained & amount of performance improvement is to go with our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as we have specialized in these vehicles for 15 years, longer than anyone else - a number of the major chipmakers have called us in for help with their products due to our expertise, and we are referred every day by OEM's for our tuning sills on these vehicles. We provide a set of 3 different custom tunes set up for however you prefer, based on how you operate your vehicle and your preference, so you are not limited to "canned" tunes.

In fact, we are having a Group Buy going on right now that will get you a great deal on our custom tuning - you can give us a call at our number listed below for the details on that, or you can also drop by the Group Buy section of these message boards and read our initial post in that section.

Thanks for dropping by, and best of luck with your truck!
