2005 F150 Dyno Results - AF1, Maggie SIDO, TP 91 Oct Tune

Hello All,

I went to the dyno yesterday, (mustang chassis dyno) in Anoka, MN [to give you an idea of weather conditions].

Here are the truck specs:

Troyer XCal2 Tuning - 91 Oct perf tune
Magnaflow SIDO catback
Magnaflow 3 inch resonator in front of the catback
AF1 3.25"
2005 5.4 3V engine
3.73LS
4WD
Supercrew

In the 3rd gear pull:

HP – 257.49
TRQ- 329.81

A/F ratios were off the charts rich so I'll be sending this to Mike for additional tuning and maybe we'll be able to get a little more out of it, but these numbers are still really good.

Conditions:
65.49 degrees Fahrenheit
29.10 in-Hg
Humidity: 10%
SAE: 1.00

HP:

TRQ:

A/F:

How are you saying that's lean?

It's running rich. Off the charts rich.

Uh...10:1 A/F ratio is rich. 18-19:1 would be way lean.

Yeah I'm taking it easy on it and going to talk to Mike and get him my files Monday morning.

Those are VERY nice numbers, im sure you will gain quite a bit more by leaning it out.

unless something is amiss that is lean. under wot conditions it should be around 12.5 or near. anything above 13 in wot is lean. lower number rich, higher number lean.

Sorry, but you are reading the chart wrong. The chart starts off lean till around 3100 then it dives under 10 @ 3250 rpm. which is the lowest available reading on this graph, hense it is running under 10 and never recovers to a chartable number, so it is rich. How rich is the question. Also which is the most damaging? That would be the lean till 3100 IMHO.In open loop it is dumping a ton of gas into the cylinders so it needs to be adjusted on both ends.

Did they sniff your exhaust with a probe, or remove one of your O2's and install a sensor to attain your A/F's?

With it that rich, you got a lot of power left to gain...

Good question. The shop is my first call Monday morning to ask that question and then Mike is my second call at which time I'll also send him my data logging and those .drf files that way I don't have to find a color fax machine.

I'm hoping we can fix the fuel curve ASAP and that it has a positive impact on my numbers.

Duke

EDIT: I'm thinking it's sniffing my exhaust with a probe now. Because I remember two big pipes going over each exhaust pipe and they were doing something back there. I don't remember anyone messing with 02 sensors.

Well then if thats the case, I can assure you that the A/F numbers are not very accurate. The best way is the way Mike gets them on his dyno, and thats by installing a sensor....

Question

Very interesting results, I had mine on the Dyno at Dallas Mustang last Wednesday and had identical results at identical RPM's as you with the air to fule ratio. My ratio started out 15 to 1 at 2500 RPM and increased to 10+ to 1 at 3600 RPM My RWHP was 244.52 and the Torque was at 310.17, disappointing to say the least. I have a 2006 Screw with the 3V 5.4, JBA ceramic coated headers, Magnaflow SS SI/DO catback exhaust, the Air Force One 3.25 intake, and it was Troyer XCAL2 tuned and on the 93 Octane performance setting.

Last summer with the JBA headers and Magnaflow exhaust the air to fuel ratio, with factory settings, showed going from 15 to 1 at 2500 RPM's and increasing to 12 to 1 at 4100 RPM's and maintaing that to 5200 RPM's. The RWHP was 231.57 and the Torque 271.54 so I only picked up 13 HP with the Air Force One and Troyer Tuning.

I tried to call Mike last Wednesday eve. but Crystal said he was busy in the shop and asked I send the data files and dynograph. I got a data file called Winpep 7 from Dallas Mustang and sent that along with the dyno graph overlay with the previous results and am awaiting a response. Sure hope I can see significantly more RWHP.
