Well I called my dealership and spoke to a very eager (not) employee. He said they only sell touch-up paint. Needless to say, this was a dead end.

I spoke the dealership's body shop, gave the guy my VIN and Int. code... Another dead end. At least this guy tried to find something in his book. On my door jam sticker, the only thing under my Int. code is "HW" They guy couldn't find anything regarding HW in his 06 book.

I called a second Ford dealership to try my luck there.... no go.

I visited a paint/body shop... no match

I called Larry over at discountpowerparts. He gave a couple contact numbers to businesses who may provide a possible solution. I'll have to wait until Monday, as both businesses were closed.

The marketing image that EDGE uses displays a perfect match.
I called EDGE AGAIN... the guy who answered the phone, John, committed to finding an answer and calling me back. Fingers crossed and waiting...

Ok... John did call me back and referred me to another business from where they got the matching paint. He stated that they too had a difficult time locating a match, but this should be the end point in my search. I tried calling, but they were closed. Hopefully we can put this to rest on Monday.

I really do appreciate the suggestions and images. I want that perfect match.

Go to the parts department of your ford dealership, and tell them what you want. They CAN get it because I have a can of it! No pun intended.

I tried the dealership route. (a 3rd one today) That would be the easiest answer if I could locate one that offered more than touch-up paint.

I called the business who painted the pod used in the marketing image. I provided my vin and am now waiting on a return call. I'll let ya know as soon as I get a response.

Post your info, and I'll send you a can, or at least ask my local dealership.

You're having trouble finding that color because it is NOT available. Out of all the interior colors, that silvery-grey color is the only one ford has not released the paint code for. It is only used on 04-up FX4's and Lariats. I searched several dealers and paint shops over a year ago, then I finally found one that would help me, and his supplier told him that code was not available. So, I'll say this again, your Only option is to have some custom mixed.

Thanks Chester, I'll send ya a pm.

05 Red, you may be right. I can't match these colors by any color chart I've seen. Still, I've ordered what was used to paint the pod in the marketing pictures. It should be here this week. If it's not a match, I'll go the route you suggested and get a mix.

Thanks again,
Greg

That's stupid.
Tell me about it. Actually, the paint shop that helped me out dug thru their books of paint codes for about 4 hours before they called their suppliers and the paint manufactures and thats when they found out that the particular paint code I needed wasn't released by Ford, and it was the only one that wasn't. That was last spring. It may be out now, but from what G7890 has gone thru, I doubt it. But considering a can of paint from Ford is about $17, and I only paid $20 for some custom mixed, why not just buy some custom like I did.

Hey G7890,
What was the final verdict on the color match?
What did you end up using?
Thanks

Disposition :(

Man I'm sorry for the delay in response here. It's just been hectic on my end.

I called Larry at Larry discountpowerparts.com to ask about the image used in on his site where the pod color matches the dash. He stated that he got the image from Edge.

I called Edge and spoke with John in marketing. John said that they used www.allaboutdiesels.com to paint the pod.

I called the all about diesels business and spoke to Monica. Monica said they used Bryndana brand (marketed as Motorcraft), but couldn't recall if they used the Medium Graphite or Medium Flint. She happened to have both cans with a little bit of paint remaining in each sitting nearby and offered to ship them to me.

After the package arrived, I tested both colors on my pod. Neither matched!
They were close, but the Flint was too dark and Graphite was too light.

I called Bandana to discuss the issue. I do not remember the name of the person that I spoke to, but he told me that they are the only Ford authorized paint on the market and there is a match for this trim.
He took my info but never called back.

I spoke to Monica just a few minutes ago. She took my vin and is making calls to track this thing down. I have to note what a go-getter she is. Extremely motivated to help. I would not hesitate to do business with this company. Monica is the epitome of Customer Service!

Medium Graphite seems to be the closest match. From my perspective, it is lighter than the dash. It may just boil down to the texture of the pod, but at this point, Medium Graphite will just have to do.

The pod is not secured to the dash just yet, but take a look at the last two images here to see the color results of the Medium Graphite:

Rick,
PM 19M 547 2002H would be even darker than Medium Flint.

Hey G7890 what lift do you have on your truck? I love that pic from the front. Why did you add those fender flares. Where the stock ones not out far enough?

Is the paint code available for the beige part of the dash? I.E. the door trim, dash, and steering wheel color.

Thanks KB
It's a 6 inch BDS suspension lift

Believe it or not, my tires stick out further than the fender flares. I can't keep the truck clean, because the tires fling everything. I should have considered the wheel offset, but it's too late now.

Jeremy,
Someone else will have to answer that one for ya.

Jeremy, I tried painting my pod with a few different grays and wasn't happy with the match. Now I decided to try and go with the camel color, especially since the texture on the pod matches the camel parts in the dash better. I used a tan flat camo paint from Pep Boys. By the time I got done painting it was dark, but I think it looks pretty close and I think it might look better than the gray. When I get it in in the light I'll try to get some pics. It's gonna be real crappy here in Jersey tomorrow though.
