Dash colr for Edge POD match

My Edge 2400 arrived today. The pod is not the silver color that was displayed in the brochure picture, instead, it's black. I want to paint my Edge pod to match the silver on my 06 dash.

Any numbers or specific colors would be appreciated.

Thanks
Greg

Well, since you have a Lariat, that silverish color on the dash will have to be custom mixed, thats what I had to do for my EDGE pod. You can buy something off the shelf, but it won't be a dead on perfect match.

Thanks for the reply. I called Edge and inquired about the color but the guy had no clue and suggested I contact the dealership for a color match. (Nice hand-off) The image used to market this product on discountpowerparts tells me that someone knows which spray-paint to buy. Edge could have made this easier and provided that info in the manual.

Do a search in this forum and also try the 2004+ forum. This has been discussed numerous times and all the relevant paint codes have been discussed.

The paint code is Dupont Vinyl 3Q4
Color-Warm Steel

Hope this helps

Check out my gallery, I have all the paint colors and what not in there. Its not a dead on match, but very close. If anything id say its a little lighter.

Just go to ford and get a can of spraypaint. I did it and it's an exact match. They can get it in any color, even the color of the non painted plastic parts. It's expensive, ($17.00) but it matches EXACTLY texture and all!

The dealership actually has the paint in the parts department?

i went to my local autoshop that also has a paint department...they have all the paint chips in their book and made me a custom can of paint to match..from the ford truck interior color chart.. I think this is the best way to get the closest match and you dont have to wait for or pay the dealers price.....

Yeah. I told them my trim code (on door jamb) and they ordered it. It came in about 2 days. It is a perfect match. It was kinda high for a can of spraypaint, but it worked great. It is VERY tough, expecially to be on plastic. I didn't sand it or anything. I just cleaned all the dust off, and sprayed it with contact cleaner (to remove fingerprints). I told them the wrong color. They gave me the dash color, not the trim color, but it looks ok. At least it matches the rest of the dash!
