EDGE on 07's

It seems that there was great support when it was early in it's release.........but now........new updates have been few and far between. Hopefully they will get their act together and fix what problems there are.

i have a 2007 extended cab fx4 with the edge installed. i did the update and programed it to level 2 and it worked fine until i turn my truck off then restart it. it throws a code every time P0605. after i put it back to stock its fine. i have yet to contact edge yet but i will be doing that today. also it drives fine even after it throws the code...i just clear it so i dont have to look at the check engine light on a truck with only 1000 miles on it lol

Hi.
Well, this certainly doesn't appear to be 'user error' - more like 'product error' .
Keep in mind the 07's are new, with yet another PCM just to complicate matters more:
So it's likely just an update that hasn't been fully tested in a rush to get it out. Did it say 'Beta'?
Y'know - 'Beta' & 'Unstable' PCM code releases should be verboten. Your truck is not a pc, where you can just go and uninstall/rollback the software if it eff's up, or worst case reformat the HD. Back up in a couple hours ( if you have backups, that is - shame on you if you don't - no excuse). Some folks need their trucks to work reliably. $40K versus $400 - you choose. Jusy my opinion, of course, but what do I know?
Don't be the guinea pig here, roll it back until a bugfree release is available.
What I would do. No wait... actually what I DID do was go with a tuner where comprehensive testing is done in-house prior to releasing code. Not using customers' trucks as crash-test dummies as a substitute for proper testing.
That's just me, though - you go do what you gotta do....
Man, Love them gauges, though, eh? When they're not frozen.
J/K, folks !!! - it's all good
Cheers
Bubba

I'm done tinkering with the EDGE and waiting for a proper update. I placed it in the classifieds when I ordered a Troyer tuned X-CAL 2 last week. A deal was finalized today and the EDGE is now on its way to someone in Irvine CA as we speak. If it didn't sell, I was going to keep it just for the gauges, but it did. At least the guy who bought it has a LARIAT so the custom painted pod will match his truck.

Am so !!! LOL.
When the product actually takes shots at itself, as witnessed here, I just have to sit back & laugh...
No one's perfect - but I'd prefer to know someone who actually gives a chit is backing my tuning. Who actually is responsive if a problem does arise. Not a nameless/faceless entity that may or may not be inclined to help you.
You like taking risks - good for you
In closing - the only folks who take me seriously are the ones who hopelessly lack a sense of humour ;-))
Cheers (Nature's beer fridge - my back deck! Except now after 50cm of snow, I can no longer find my back deck, nor my beer )
