you can gain a few MPG's with the Xcal2, its all how you drive If you get one that first tank will be gone very fast " due to the fun factor" I know mine was.

I lost 2mpg. i drive the same as before i got it and try to drive like an old man just so i can increase my milage. i was getting 16.5-17mpg before and now down to 15 maybe 15.5mpg. this is hand calced. not to happy with mine, very little added power. firmer shifts were the biggest thing i noticed. had the same experiance with the edge as well. with the edge i thought it was the unit because i was having other problems as well. may just take it off and sell it.

Was your xcal2 tuned by Troyer?

XCalII Mileage

2006 5.4 Scab
Low octane Troyer Custom Tune (87)
Avg MPG at 4500 miles, half hiway, half freeway is 14.74.
Supposedly the 92+ tune will be higher.
Old man driver.

It's very simple, really - the only way anyone is going to see their fuel mileage drop with our tuning is if they drive it harder, or they are using fuel with a lower energy content - that is of course assuming they are making their comparisons accurately and under the same conditions & time of year, of course.

Right now, especially this past month or so, *everyone's* mileage is down because it's been much cooler darn near everywhere, and the colder it is, the worse your fuel mileage will be.

With us, because we do accurate comparisons & track all of this accurately and operate the vehicle in the same manner, there has never been a vehicle we have owned that I have tuned that has not seen an increase in fuel mileage on our performance tuning - and we're not trying to gain mpg in our performance tuning, we're out for performance - it just happens as a by product of good thorough tuning.

Of course, to get that, you have to usually wait until the excitement of having a new go-fast part wears off and driving returns to a more normal pace - so few people take that into consideration, and many will compare their fuel mileage in warmer weather to the "after" mileage in cooler weather, etc. SO you really do have to drive the vehicle the same, and make the fuel mileage comparisons in the same basic temperatures & at the same time of year, fill the vehicle up the same way from the same pump , etc., if you really want to get accuracy.
