Certainly never meant to sound as though it might have been tune caused... in fact, in my mind, it's blatently obvious that tuning was not to blame on this -- I mean, I'd been running this particular tune for quite a while prior to the failure. If it had been tuning, we would've had issues before I rolled off of the dyno and, obviously, you guys wouldn't have allowed me to leave if *anything* looked fishy. Further, it's VERY WELL DOCUMENTED that injectors are a problem on this truck. Unfortunately, it bit me on this one... thankfully, the starter gave way rather than bending a rod. In short, it could've been mUcH worse...

I had a great time over there with you guys, Mike. It was good to see you and Anita again -- as well as all of the other members.

I'm home now... I have a truck in the garage but, I can't find the stock mounting bracket for the stock intake. While I have intentions on pulling it back off and putting the AF1 back on the truck, that probably won't happen til this weekend.

In the interim, I'll stay stock on stock with my maggie. It will *definitely* be going back to 93 Performance and AF1 though!

The positive out of this -- I got my plugs changed. LOL! As much of a problem as they've been for some people, having that done was a slight silver lining!

Looking forward to coming back over to see you guys again, Mike & Anita. I'll let you know what happens on Thursday with the ultra-sound.

Not too darn shabby on crud winter gas, eh? I did have some lousy fuel -- go figure - Thanks Chevron! I mean, I didn't make Matt's numbers but, I didn't miss him by that much.

Matt is responsible for me buying new headlights too (or, I will be buying)... Those things were too cool. My wife thanks you, Matt. LOL! I can't make up my mind on if I go with the chrome or black though... not sure that the black doesn't look a bit too 'space ship' looking...

Hi Rockpick. I'm wondering why they didn't replace all the injectors? If there is a TSB on 'em, I'd be concerned that the others might go bad. ??

Also, I'm wondereding if you could have been running lean with those bad injectors and bad gas? Maybe the gas was a contributing factor with the injectors. Or something else?

I'd also be interested in knowing if the bad injectors were the first in line on the rails? Heat problem causing them to stick? And were they really stuck open, or clogged?

Interesting stuff.

Thanks

I didn't Dyno at Mike's last week, but I did Dyno.

244.73
316.31

91 Perf Oct, AF1 3.25, Flowmaster 40 Duals. 2004 FX4 Screw

The A/f were a little sketchy as expected. All info sent to mighty Mike for evaluation and tweaking.

Man... I don't know. I like the chrome but, I'm not sure about the black. I've emailed the guy twice with the question of trading if I don't like the black but, I haven't heard a peep out of him.

TSB calls for replacing the faulty injectors -- not all of them.

Not lean... 12.63 on my run.... that's pretty much perfect.

They were 'stuck' open. Not clogged...

Doubtful on the gas contribution... the 2005 injector problem is VERY well documented -- I'm far from the first guy to have this problem. The tuning/mods/etc had nothing to do with this one... it's just a coincidence. To concrete that thought, I was nearly 300 miles down the road before I had this problem... additionally, nothing was really changed on my tune -- very meniscule changes to fine tune.

Long story short, it was a fluke. I drew the 'unlucky' card that day while driving back. Tis life... Fortunately for me, they took care of it.

I had mine on the dyno last Monday. Troyer 93 Oct Performance tune

254
324

On one run I spiked the dyno on the 2nd to 3rd shift...The Dyno operator thought it had already shifted into 3rd when he nailed it... it was still in 2nd gear. The belt chirped on the 3rd gear shift all the hold down straps creaked and the truck tried to leap forward at which point the dyno operator got right out of it. lol uncorrected was 525 & 429
