I think MSD (Edge's parent company) makes just the monitor. I saw a thread either in this section or the 2004+ section about it. Can't remember the name.

I think I saw one that looked like the edge - it was Dash Hawk or something like that. Price I saw was more than I just bought my Edge for.

Found it:

http://www.dashhawk.com/

Might be able to get it for a little less than the Edge now that I looked around.

The dashhawk is the same as the edge, minus the programming. the case is almost identical too.

Thats what you want to get.

I haven't seen prices yet, but I imagine the dashhawk would be somewhat cheaper. Especially since it looks like a cheap edge knockoff.

I think there are more display options with the dashawk.

I saw them for $300. I just bought an edge for $318.

Ya check msd, they have the exact same module as Edge- but only works as a monitor. Saw a picture of it in trucktrend.

Dashawk will display many, many more PID's than the Edge.

Plus, the Dashawk will accept an analog wideband A/F input and display that too.

Both can provide rudimentary datalogging.

As already posted, the Scanguage is a less expensive ( but more limited) alternative.

And then there's SCT's LiveWire, that can do it all LOL! Mucho $$$ though.
