Well I am now on my second programmer, the first would not allow me to use the power programs, anyway the one have now is causing me grief
First off it would not power up, so with Tech support from Edge we uploaded the correct updates, still would not work, so had another OBD cable sent to me, now it powers up, but after the screen where it states that the programmer is initializing it shuts down and will not power up again
tried unplugging it a number of times and still the same results.
So is there anybody out there in Ford Land that can tell me or has experienced the same thing? and what might be done to correct it.
I have heard so many good things about the Evolution but I am at the point where I could toss it!!!!!!
by the way I have an 05 FX-4 5.4

So what happens if you do this... exactly:

1.) With truck off, plug in edge to pcm
2.) Move key to power accessories on (Now what EXACTLY does the Edge do?)

 

same thing "wait till initializes" which I do and then it shuts down
thanks fer help, but I did what ya asked and still no results, and the tech dept at edge is closed today

I have read in MANY posts, that the Edge can be sensative to Low voltage...

Hows that Battery?

 

Does it spit out the HEX code?

 

the battery is excellent, and no HEX CODE it shuts down will its trying to intialize

 

Man... that just seems too unlikley that you actually received 2 bad programmers....

Long shot... Have any Friends w/04-07 F150 you can hook uo to?

 

gettin really discouraged here, I have the most current download installed the last unit would show all th parameters but showed a check sum failure with the techs at edge we could not resolve the problem, so the dealer that I bought this unit off of exchanged it for another, first there was no power or display coming to the unit, now with a new cable it won't initialize and shuts down,
I guess my hands are tied, My truck works flawlessly, all I wanted was to get a little more performance, but after 2 units and numerous calls to the supplier and edge at am at wits end,
If anyone has any idea it would be appreciated

If I remember correctly you should turn the key to on then plug it in the first time after that it should be ok.

 

Thats what was done, still no success, the programmer came with a notice that the ignition must be in the on position before plugging in the evolution, by the way I appeciate all the input on trying to help me resolve the issues around this programmer

 

If you are running/downloaded the latest update from Edge.
Drop BACK to the next STABLE release and Calibration.
Sounds like a unstable/Beta release.

 

Believe or not I did try that, there are currently 2 updates available one is a beta the other is stable, and both where tried, I now have the programmer updated to the most current release as suggested by the techs at Edge,
In the manual it sas it could be a communication error, I still have the previous cord when I try that cord I get a no display but my truck display will say"Ckeck Gauges" but the unit will not show a dispay, and with the new cord I have been issued that message is not indicated but will power up the edge but will not go past the intialization window then shuts down
