Is it a good buy, or is there better for the money? The answer is YES to both questions... It's a good BASIC means of tuning your truck. However, it is a canned tuner. Meaning that you only have very limited adjustability. You get what Superchips gives you... And yes, there are better... The EDGE is also a canned tuner, but it has much more user-end adjustability. Plus it has nice gauges. Then there completely custom tunes via the Xcal2. Troyer & Bamachips are 2 good companies that create tunes for the Xcal2... IIRC, all the major tuners (canned or custom) are within about $100 of each other. So for my money, I'd spurge the extra $100 and go with one of the better ones.

Thanks from what I've been reading I think I'll go with the edge, since I'm not gonna be hitting the drag strip anytime soon and with my style of driving/towing I'm not gonna notice if an xcal custom tune gives me 15 more HP than the edge

I recommend the XCal with TP’s custom tunes. I’ve been running Mikes tunes since 04 and they’ve been awesome, totally trouble free, not a single problem or glitch; ultra reliable
