Cool

HI!... HA! This is my daily driver and tow vehicle for the F-150 drag truck. The only mods I plan on are XCAL-2 with MIKE's tunes, CAI, 4-10's and electric fans.

Cool

HI!... Now that I have looked at them, I'll probably just build my own CAI set-up. I can get a custom made S&B open end filter for $80 and I already have all the mandrel 3 inch bends here in the garage. I can build one for less than $100(CAN). $260(U.S) is crazt for a piece of tubing and a filter.

Y'think Mike already has a transfer function created for a 'sewer pipe' Ranger intake?

Holy "DWV intake mod" redux LOL!

Glad to see you are not the only one who thinks intakes are WAY overpriced!!

Are you going to smoke half of Detroit out with a Ranger burnout like you did in your F150 video?

While I agree with you in principal, some engines (noteably the 04+ 5.4L 3V's) don't safely take to shadetree mods to the intakes. So you either stay stock, bend over, or take a risk. You can Search here and/or the Chips forum for more on this issue.

Not sayin' the Ranger is prone or not. I wouldn't know, but Neal would.

Just as he already knows I'm pullin' his chain. He's young & cranky but has big shoulders.

Cheers
Bubba

Never meant to imply to build one yourself. I am well aware of the 3 valve issues. My point was they are overpriced for the little gain, save your money and get a tuner.

Oh geesh. Please don't bring that one back up. That thread went from informative to fiasco pretty quickly.

Hehe - sorry, there Boss, it was low-hanging fruit, hence irresistable.

Hi Neal,

Yes, we have a properly designed intake kit for your truck, as well as the tuning, just give me a shout.

The 2007 Rangers have the same issue, you can't just slap a low-restriction setup on there and not need complete datalogging, & custom tuning, so this is not one to just do a home-rig on like you can do in the 1997-2003 F-150's and just have a slight A/F correction to make.
