There's a thread already on this hereabouts .... figured since you already have an Evo, it would/could potentially save you some $$$.

if you set it to level 2 and opt to customize it, it does begin with the canned level two settings and you are tweakin' it from there.

so answer to Q2 = No.

Q3 = yes
Thanks Bruce,that what I thought.

I hate to be a nudge here, but you appear to be grossly misinformed. I didn't screw DP-Tuner over and anyone who says differently is a liar. Things simply didn't work out with me and Jody and that's the end of it.

As per my contract with Edge, I am the only person authorized to provide custom tuning on the Evolution will continue to do so.

Hope that clears any confusion.

Check these settings out...

Let me know what you guys think.

I have a 2005 XLT w/ the 4.6 - here are my settings for my edge. I'd like to know if I'm cool or overdoing it.

WOT Shifting: 5100 1-2; 4800 2-3; 4800 3-4
Shift Firmness: 1-2 = +6; 2-3 = +6; 3-4 = +4
Rev Limiter: 5400
Speed Limiter: 125
Timing Adj: 0
WOT Fuel: 1.5

Also, are these settings going to hurt while I'm towing a 18ft Bass Boat?

Appreciate all responses - Thanks,

Reggie.

regoscar what Octane are you running? Your setting look fine and shouldnt have any problems pulling a 18' bassboat. However Im not sure how the setting from a 4.6 and 5.4 differ on the edge settings.

My settings as of today:
2005 FX4 5.4
Runnning LVL3 with 93
Shift Points: 1-2=5100 2-3=5100 3-4=4800
Shift Firmness: 1-2=+6 2-3=+6 3-4=+6
Rev Limiter: 5600RPM
WOT Fuel: 1.5
Gears: 3:73
Tires: 325/60/18 = 2660mm
Timing +1

Mods:
K&N CAI (KN57-2556)
Magnaflow SI/DO 2.5 muffler 18"

F150FXOnline thanks for the reply... and let me first say that is one good looking truck...

I'm only running 87 octane on Lvl 2. I'm not too sure of the differences between the two engines either... I'm hoping someone else on the forum might...

I do know that those settings sure did "wake up the beast"!

The difference is like night and day w/ the edge compared to stock!

Edge Evolution - Effects of Elevation

I recently purchased the Edge Evolution for my 05’ F150 5.4 truck, and am interested in doing some slight modifications. I have a couple of questions however, because I am not a mechanic. Any responses will be appreciated!

1. What is the effect of elevation with timing? (I live at 2750’ altitude and have a cat-back and an intake installed on my truck.)

2. If I tweak my timing, what signs do I look for to show me that my truck may develop a problem? (I found that my truck great at +.5 timing and am running 93 octane on level 2. But, I am apprehensive in letting it set there, because I would like to go down to an 89 octane…)

3. How do you determine what octane is safe to use, based on +.5 timing on level 2 at 2750 feet altitude plus my mods?

4. Will my truck be running lean with these adjustments including my mods and the Edge Evo we discussed? (cat-bak & cold air intake)

Thanks!

I'm at about 6000 feet running Level 2, I increased my timing .5 and am running regular 85 octane with no problems. The higher in elevation the less octane needed! If it doesn't "knock" all is good.

I have mine on Level 2 and had the timing on +.5 but backed it off to see if fuel mileage increases.

Was wondering what size tires you have. Also i have not updated my edge since i got it 2 years ago have there been any updates latley?. Now i'm looking at playing with the settings but had a few questions, would your settings work on level 2 with 35's and what kind of timing should I enter for an elavation of about 1375.
