Superchips are very good tuners for the money and unlike custom tunes you can use the same tuner for another truck if you ever sell your current one. Custom tunes are truck specific and cannot be used in another truck typically, so your tied into paying for a new tune everytime you change trucks. Just something to consider if you don't drive your trucks forever.

I don't know much about the Max Micro tuner but the 1815 that I have is a very nice tuner. I would call Superchips customer service and talk to tech support about the two tuners. Also the rule of thumb is first the tuner then a cold air intake followed by the exhaust. This is what Troyer Performance recommends as the best bang for the buck. As far as the Edge tuner I would do a search on them seems like a lot of guys are having trouble with them. I can't say I hear all that much complaining about Superchips other than they don't have the digital gauges everybody wants. If you look around it is possible to get a used 1815 for about $250.00 on average. Another nice thing is that you can update the tuner online and then it is as good as new.

I have the Superchips 1714 on my 04 and love the difference it made. (Got mine used in the classifieds on this site). Well worth the money (used not new). Eliminated the throttle lag that I had with stock tuning and now accelerates much faster.
