9-10 mpg is more like it while towing! I figured something was off. I wasn't trying to flame you , just trying to get to the bottom of things.
People come on here all the time bragging about killer mpg, most of them are just full of it. It seems you made a simple mitsake. or you have a touch of dyslexia either way you need to post some pics of your truck so we can all check it out! Did you call Troyer about your Xcal2 yet? The sooner you do the sooner you will be getting even worse gas milage! It takes about a month and a half to get Troyers product once they receive your info!

You are absolutely correct, I refigured it on another calculator, my apologies to all Now, I have an X-Cal2, local guy says he can reprogram it from a Mustang to a F-150, what other mods will help me overcome my newly discovered crappy gas milage ? Underdrive pullies and a CAI ?

As far as I know, only SCT can reprogram an xcal2 to unlock it. You would be able to use it no problem if you had reloaded the stock tune back into the mustang, otherwise you need to to send it off to SCT to get it unlocked. I'd give SCT a call and see if it's actually possible for this local tuner to reprogram the xcal2, but I highly doubt it.

Actually SCT gave me the name of the local shop that CAN unlock and reprogram it, and yes I did return the Stang to stock.

That's funny, but at least believable.

If you returned the Stang back to stock, you should be good to go. You wil not have to 'unlock' the xcal2. The only thing you now need to do is program it for your truck with a tune.

Thanks Dennis, that's just what SCT and the local dealer told me ! With my truck being factory stock, what will the canned SCT programs do for me ?

A lot, it's going to be a whole new truck. Besides the gain in hp and tq, you'll notice better driveability depending on your tuner.

Thumper, I was asking about the factory SCT F-150 tunes that would be downloaded on it ? No use getting a custom tune for an otherwise stock truck yet is there ?
