I'm running an edge with a CAI and I've never had any problems but my edge is about a year old. Its never thrown a code or anything with this lean problem I keep hearing would it throw a code?

lean problems are for the 04+ guys we have a different MAF that can compensate for the extra air from a CAI. don't worry about it

well it looks like i'm just going to take the chance and buy the airaid when i get back from vacation next week. just a a precaution though, what are some signs that the engine is running lean? Is there anyway to tell besides a code being thrown? because I do tow a decent size trailor and running lean could turn into a big problem.

egts will be higher- especailly pulling a trailor- to run an edge, add cai, then pull trailor is insane- taking a chance like that is ludicrous, reading the plugs is another way, as well as a wideband air- fuel monitor

I know thats why i want to know ways to find if it is running lean and get them fixed before I go pulling the trailor, especiallly since its around 8,500 lbs loaded.

Forgot the reason why originally made this post

If you get a tune for the edge to handle the CAI would he not be fine? I ask because I am looking to do the same, except I already have the CAI and am looking at getting the edge for my 08.

Exactly, I was running too lean for comfort with a Edge on Level3 and a S&B intake. I never threw a code but the story was told when I got on the dyno.
