Well alright got my intake and sct xcal3 in yesterday in stalled them. Man you can tell the difference. But the xcal3 really only had one preloaded tune as far as i could tell and i was told three but there isn;t much info on the preloaded tune as far as what kind of gas and if it,s performance or tow.

I dont know about the Xcal3, but on the livewire, when you go into the preloaded tunes screan, you have to select adjust user options, and thats where you can change things like octance, economy, tow, shift pressure, speed limiter and such.

It is basically one preloaded tune, with a bunch of user options to adjust.

If you dont adjust anything, it just loads the basic 87 octance tune.

Once you have uploaded your stock tune to the Xcal, then all it does is change your canned tune.

So, it will be much quicker to change between tunes now. Takes me about 3 minutes.

The one thing I dont like, is I dont believe that there is anyway to see what options are loaded into your truck, unless you go back and reload the tune.

I keep a note book in my console, and write down the options I changed along with the date, so I always know what is loaded. I have a hard time remembering.

This is from Troyers site:

Average Power Gains Using Livewire
Pre-Loaded Tune Files:
Vehicle:
'99-'03 7.3L Diesel RWHP 110 RWTQ 200
'03-'07 6.0L Diesel RWHP 120 RWTQ 240
'99-'04 Lightning/Harley RWHP 25 TQ 38
'04-'07 4.2L F-Series RWHP 14 RWTQ 20
'04-'07 4.6L F-Series RWHP 11 RWTQ 8
'04-'07 5.4L F-Series RWHP 22 RWTQ 20
'04-'07 6.8L F-Series RWHP 31 RWTQ 31

On my 4.6 it feels like much more than what is listed, but I think alot of that is because it is so much more responsive now.

Ok so i have driven some miles with the canned tunes and love it so far can,t wait for the customs. But should i worry about my engine running lean or rich. Shouldn,t i get a check engine light if something like that happens. I have played around with some of the shift firmness but kinda afraid to fool with any thing else. Also called sct and the three canned tunes are the chages in octane in fuel from what i got out of it. I guess it changes the whole tune when you select the type of gas.

You wont necessarily get a CEL for running lean.

Are you running a CAI?

I would call troyer and ask them. I know they told me that I did not have to worry about running the Roush intake and running lean with the canned tunes on the 4.6l

IF you are not running a CAI, I dont think you have to worry. But if they said you were ok, then you probably are.

There are a couple of tracks that I ride around here in NC.

NC Motorsports park, Devils Ridge, Archers Lodge.

I have not raced in a while, but plan on getting back at it this spring.

Do you ride?

What are you looking for?

I have an '07 CRF250r right now, it is an awesome bike, but might get an '08 sometime this season, or wait for '09. Not sure quite yet.

Just sold my '05 YZ 125 about a month or so ago.
