The difference would be that you wouldn't have the option of having someone else tune the unit as well as dyno tuning isn't available. If I moved out of the state and had a heavily modified vehicle, I'd take it to a local shop to get it dialed in probably.

I meant that I used it on my 2006 F150, sold it and bought the Mustang which I'm currently using the Xcal2 on. Sorry about the confusion.

Just to correct a possible misconception here..
Troyer doesn't charge "$50 per tune" on top of the price of Xcal 2 or 3 or Livewire device, at least not for the original 3 custom tunes that you order.
Additional tunes beyond those may well be $50 each, I don't know.
The price that TP charges for the programmer includes 3 custom tunes at no additional charge.
No knock against any sponsors here or anyones favorite tuner, just wanted to make that specific issue a bit more clear.
