How Accurate are the Performance Tests In the Edge?

I actually have the Gryphon Tuner now w/custom tunes but I am sure that has no bearing, but my question is this how accurate are the 0-60 and 1/4 mile tests in the tuner? I have not done the 1/4 mile test as of yet but I get 7.2 Seconds 0-60 consitantly.

I think Bill has to give you the REAL answer here, but if the Gryphon is seeing speed and distance correctly (correct circumfirence for tires, including "squish" and has the correct gear ratio), then it should be dead accurate.

As long as your tire size and gears are accurate, the performance tests have usually been pretty accurate. I've run the tests against actual 1/4 mile timeslips as well as the 1/4 mile test on a Mustang Dyno and have been fairly close (+/- .1 sec and .5 MPH). Keep in mind that things like wheelspin can have an adverse effect on accuracy.

The performance tests are generally for comparisons and are certainly NOT meant to be the definitive word on vehicle performance tests.

Hope this helps.

There have been numerous threads about the Edge being an accurate 1/4 calculator. The general consensus from what I've seen over the last year on this forum is that it is off. There was a guy who ran his several times and then went to the drag strip and his truck was noticeably slower than the Edge was reading. My Edge was telling me I was running 0-60 in mid 6's and I went to the strip and ran a 16.0. 0-60 in 6's to me isn't a 16 sec 1/4.
