Well you know that will be fixed regardless of what kind of tuner you get, right?

In my experiences 92(we don't have 93 in HI.) gave me just as good mileage as 87. buuuuuuut, the performance is "SOOO" much better with 93.
If i can make a little example.. 93 is to 87 as 87 is to stock. well performance wise for the most part.

drove up to kansas this weekend 435 mile trip. had the cruise control set on 85-95mph and got 16.4mpg in my truck... check my gallery for truck and mods but that was on the level 2 "EXTREME economy tune" bill wrote for me. my level 3 tune is an all out "holy CRAP tune"..max power and performance.....

now that i have the custom tunes...it feels weird. i've NEVER not felt my truck shift...it feels soooo smoooth

I have a Gryphon with a custom towing tune and I'm VERY satisfied with it. As I said in another thread, the BEST mpg I ever got towing before custom tunes was 12.2 on level ground. But, with Bill's custom towing tune I averaged 12.9 towing our trailer over 11,000+ foot passes in Colorado on a recent 2400 mile trip.

And, I really like the gauges. Something that was astonishing to me was termperatures in the engine when it was under stress (at 4000+ RPM pulling up a 6-7% grade). The CHT stayed nice and cool, about 214-216 degrees. The TFT would move up pretty fast on those uphill climbs and would peak out around 211-212. But what really got my attention, was the oil temperature. It would shoot up to 240-245 degrees under those conditions and would not drop down very quickly once the need for high revs was over. The coolant temperature guage in the dash, by the way just stayed at it's normal, slightly below midpoint position during all this.

So, I'm getting a pretty good visual display of the stress on the oil and transmission fluids and will be changing both sooner than recommended.

As a side note, the other thing I monitor is charging voltage, since I'm charging two batteries in the trailer as well as the one in the truck. It's nice to know the exact voltage they're seeing instead of having to rely on the crappy little analogue gage in the dash.
