Update! Need advice now!!!

OK, truck doesn't stumble anymore, still doesn't feel exactly right. I think computer is still getting used to the new tune......

I now know there is an issue with the tunes and Justin not knowing about the 3.5" AF1 without the sleeve. It's not his fault, he just wasn't aware that there was two different 3.5" tubes out there. Truck still runs rough like it wants to die in the morning at startup, once it idles down it runs smooth again. I have been through all throttle positions and so far I haven't gotten an lean code. I checked with my X3 and nothing was found, if there was one shouldn't the computer have stored it, and if there isn't one, do you think it is OK?

Need some advice, I haven't heard back from Justin yet, I sent him a copy of the orginal tune file and asked him if he could tell if he tuned for the 3.5" w/o the sleeve....

Thanks - Andy

Andy, I see your email, I will get back to you on it shortly.

When ordering a tune from VMP you'll need to specify the size of the AF1 intake on your truck, and whether or not is had the insert. Many people don't even know the insert exists, so they will call it a 3.5" intake, but it has a 3" insert. There is also a 3.25" intake with no insert that was made for a short time. I can tune for any of them, but I just need to know which you have.

Thanks Justin, Just went and measured with some calipers, measures I.D. 3" 3/8" on the inside. There is no sleeve on either side, I will wait for your e-mail.

Thanks - Andy

I would expect whomever I was ordering Custom Tunes from would quiz me on my mods, etc, and steer me in the right direction

Just got my AF1 intake back after sending it off to have the sleeve put in it. So now it's a 3" version. Truck idles nice and smooth again. They didn't charge anything to put the sleeve in, just shipping there and back.
