Well I was playing with the EVO this afternoon had nothing better to do. I set it on stock and did the 0-60MPH and the truck did it in 8.88 seconds. I tried level 1 and got 8.44 seconds, finally level 2 and got 8.24 seconds. I also started looking at the custom tunes you can adjust yourself. I came to the tire size and followed the formula in the book since my tires were not listed and found them about 80 mm off so I adjusted it accordingly. I then came to the gear ratio. The book stated unless I changed the rear end to leave this alone, OK The listing on the EVO was 3.73. My gear ration is 3.55 Should I adjust it for follow the book and leave it alone? BTW thank you all for your response.

Yes, always adjust to what you actually have.

Should I send my EVo to PHP before or after my cat-back system?

I don't think it matters. Any change past the cats does not affect the computer that much. It's when you are messing with the intake and the air going in that you need to coordinate with the tune. The exhaust just expells whatever air/fuel that has been ingested.

The Xcal 2 or 3 from Troyer Performance should also be listed as one of these best options.

To the OP, you're going to get best options based on people's personal preferences. All three listed options are very good, you just have to decide which one you want for yourself and get it.

What is the difference between the xcal2 and 3? Are the custom tunes like the aftermarket programmers where you plug them in under your dash?

Well to awnser my own question. I have run a tank of fuel through using my edge. I normally average right at 14-14.5 MPG well I got a wopping 15.87 MPG it may not seem like much but I used the 0-60 tool on my edge at least 10 times and it was the first time I have ever drove this truck like this. So I was very happy overall so far.

As for the average MPG guage on the edge monitor it said 16.4 MPG on the average meter the instant one bounces from 0-30 depeding on how Im driving. So to awnser my question and anyone elses if they were wonder its not to far off at least for me it didn't seem that way.

The Xcal2 does not have the "canned" tunes. Basically tunes from SCT. Not a big deal since the canned tunes in the Xcal3 are not very good. I actually lost power on them. Then did the web update, and it gave a critical error on the truck. People usually buy Xcal's for the custom tunes. All programming on Xcals are done thought the OBD II port under the dash.

I believe they both do the datalogging on the device and via livelink software on a laptop.

I've also heard the Xcal3 is for newer vehicles (F-150 2004+) due to the more advanced computer on board.

Well to add my opinion. I have an Edge now and love it. Bill from PHP helped me dial in the settings as far as timing and such. I am getting 15.5MPG when before I was only getting 12.5MPG. Now, I just sent my Edge to Bill at www.Powerhungryperformance.com to get custom tuned. I will also be adding an Airaid intake. I already have an exhaust. It just comes down to what you want and for how much you want it.

Bill suggests that you wait until after you get your catbacks; it would probably run just fine either way, but he says there are some minor adjustments that he can make for them.

Thank you very much for the advice.
