That WILL be an interesting test OpenClass. I think we'll all be eager to see the results.

I wonder if there would be differences in "classes" of tunes. For instance, let's assume Mike's tune was best at 91 performance. Would it also be best for an 87 economy tune (or even an 87 performance tune, if Mike doesn't do economy)?

I think most of us accept that a dyno tuned vehicle is set to the last, best fraction of efficiency. But, we really don't know if the differences are significant, do we?

Sounds cool! I can't wait. Keep us informed when you might think you'll be doing the comparison. I might find time to come up for a visit... If ya don't mind, that is.

Take care.

That will be interesting and something for us to look forward too hearing the results. It's nice when people compare apples to apples as well.

Hey Phil and Bill, Would tuning be the same with Gryphon and Xcal? If so Phil can save some money and load PHP tunes with Xcal now that Bill is tuning with Xcal as well. (At least I think that what I read a while back).

That would be great to get real numbers.

Bangingd,

While we are technically set up as SCT distributors, we have not yet made the final purchase on the software so we are not yet able to reprogram XCals. It might work out that by the time Phil is ready to do the testing, we will have the software in hand. Just depends on how soon he plans on doing so.

Awesome!!

I was just researching into getting a Gryphon too so I could try them both. With the new price structure it is pretty tempting.

I look forward to your results.

Approximately when will you be able to reprogram Xcals?

We currently have financial obligations committed through the end of the year which has a big chunk of our budget tied up. We do plan to have everything in place by the first of the year. If we can swing it sooner, then we will.

I think the only thing they don't have in their software yet is the 6.4L. As far as I know, it should cover everything else and work on XC2 & XC3. I am not sure about LiveWire, but I don't see why that would be any different. As we get closer to making the purchase, I'll have more details.

Catch ya later.
