Recommendations?

Hey guys im new to the chip and tuner section. Looking for a little guidance as to what exactly i should get for my truck. I have a 2005 Scab with a 4.6. Running a Flowmaster 40 SIDO + Magnaflow high flows, getting a Roush CAI. Im a real newb too so how does the programmer work in terms of install. Do i have to plug something to the truck or install a certain chip? Any help in appreciated and sry for the newb questions.

plug the programmer into the odb2 port under the dash on the drivers side and then select install tune, select the tune you want, set parameters(if you want to) then follow the on screen instructions, which will consist of turn key on do no start, then it will start to install and beep once done

there is no chip available for your truck, look up troyerperformance.com or vmptuning.com or php, get custom tuning with your mods it would beworth it

I'm running the Gryphon Tuner/Programmer. Check them out here. www.customtune.me This particular programmer has a gauge pod that you can mount on your dash for additional display of parameters. It mounts in a custom pod that can be painted to match your interior and looks factory. It plugs into your odbII port under the steering column.

The Gryphon comes with canned tunes which basically means they are "basic" changes for increased performance. However, you can order custom tunes to meet your specific application i.e. exhaust, cai, tire size, etc. You can order performance tunes, towing tune, or economy tune, or all.
The tunes will change your shifting points for firmer shifts, longer shift points during revs, adjusts your timing advance for best fuel mileage and performance. You will think your driving a different truck.

Install is a snap. Just read the book 2 or 3 times so you have a complete understanding. You plug it into the odbII port and it will reflash your pcm with a new tune (or rewrites your trucks computer with a new program) and then saves the factory program.

I have a cai, sido Magnaflo, and of course the Gryphon and love it. There's many more members on here with much more knowledge but let me tell ya' you wouldn't be disappointed.

Good Luck
